History

Sumeru first manifests when Jing Qian completes his Determining Destiny ritual. Within a void of competing Destiny Constitutions, the black jade stele repeatedly rejects lesser choices until two purple seeds and one golden seed remain. Jing Qian connects with the golden seed, obtaining the Golden Root-ranked Sumeru and becoming a Ninth Grade cultivator. 9

Its earliest practical development begins after it absorbs a brocade spatial pouch. The resulting Void Realm is smaller than the original pouch but preserves Jing Qian's stored items, provides concealment from danger, and lowers the Destiny Essence cost of maintaining storage. 16 17

During Jing Qian's fifth Determining Destiny, all three Sumeru constitutions unite as a unique Heavenly Destiny. This establishes the Sumeru Dao Lineage: no future Heavenly Destiny can replace Sumeru as the root of his cultivation. Its uniqueness also grants Jing Qian sole dominion over its dimensional void; no other cultivator can Determine Destiny Sumeru and contend for that space. 69

The dimension expands from a small shelter into a growing realm containing the Void Realm, Destiny Star, and several grotto-heavens. By this stage, it houses more than one million mortals and becomes the central resource base for Jing Qian's Sumeru Sage path. 167

Later developments make Sumeru increasingly self-sufficient. The Origin Bone allows it to generate Primal Qi without relying entirely on external Sea of Origin Qi connections, while the Six Paths Reincarnation system gives the dimension its own nascent cycle of birth, death, transmigration, and annihilation. 233 242

After Sumeru is detonated against Spirit Mountain Tathagata's avatar, it survives through the Sumeru Great Dao Stele's intervention and continues evolving. Its later Primordial Power, naturally born Innate Spirit Treasures, River of Time, and Sumeru Yellow Springs push it beyond the role of a mere storage realm toward a proto-universe. 263 286 353 369

After becoming a Heavenly Destiny, Sumeru becomes Jing Qian's private dimensional domain.
