Background / History
Origins in the Dao Abyss Central Divine Heaven
Pure Yang Heaven originated in the Dao Abyss Central Divine Heaven. Its founding ancestor obtained the mysterious Pure Yang Sword Diagram by chance; study of the diagram became the basis for the lineage's sword-cultivation inheritance. 119
A great upheaval in the Central Divine Heaven one hundred thousand years ago devastated Pure Yang Heaven and forced it to flee to the Northern Ehuang Yinghuang Limitless Heaven. Conflicts with local powers, including the Empress, resulted in the lineage's effective banishment to the Ying Floating Pagoda Realm. The senior ancestors who arrived there later departed into the void to pursue their own cultivation. 134
Pure Yang Heaven endured in the Ying Floating Pagoda Realm for one hundred thousand years and produced more than ten Upper Third Rank great cultivators. Its upper-rank successors were renowned for violently seizing resources and creating major disturbances wherever they fought. 136
Three-Thousand-Year Decline
A sudden calamity three thousand years before Jing Qian's initiation drove the sect into crisis and extinguished its Sword Furnace. Zhen Miao's fall left Shang Xi to preserve the inheritance despite remaining at Earth Fiend for three millennia. 134
Shang Xi's advancement was further obstructed when Mother Yaksha disrupted his Destiny Stars. By the time Jing Qian arrived, the sect was severely depopulated, its local branch consisting only of Shang Xi, Jing Qian, and the old white ox. 117 119
Jing Qian's Succession
Jing Qian chose the despised Pure Yang Ruins during the Academy Sacrificial Banquet, defeated an Impermanence Temple challenger with one sword strike, and secured the right to inherit the lineage. 115
After entering the Pure Yang Cave Heaven, Jing Qian inscribed his name on the Pure Yang Sword Diagram, received the Dharma name Crimson Firmament, and became the first true disciple of that generation recorded on the diagram in three thousand years. 118 121
When Shang Xi departed the realm to assist Zhen Miao's reincarnation, he entrusted Pure Yang Heaven to Jing Qian, making him Sect Master. 135
Cultivation System & Doctrine
“My Pure Yang Heaven follows a path where cultivation is driven by combat power as the core, exchanging slaughter for advancement.” 118
“True disciples who have inherited the Pure Yang legacy, besides being good at fighting, are also best at avoiding fights.” 118
Pure Yang Heaven treats combat power as the central measure of cultivation. Its disciples pursue methods that maximize offensive output, but the Pure Yang Golden Eye is also used to assess danger and avoid needless battles. 118 135
The lineage is described as the “application” of cultivation: where Yanfu Dao supplies deep foundational cultivation, Pure Yang Heaven converts accumulated power into sharp, decisive, and unconventional combat ability. 114
Hidden Sword Box
The Hidden Sword Box is an alternative Spiritual Opportunity Destiny Forging method rather than a standard cultivation art.
- Requires a weapon-type Spiritual Treasure Destiny of at least Purple Eye rank. 73
- Allows a cultivator to refine a Pure Yang Sword Box as a Spiritual Opportunity. 73
- The original Pure Yang Sword Box was later dismantled by Zhu Yun to upgrade the natal sword boxes of all Pure Yang Children. 201
- Jing Qian's upgraded Azure Duckweed Sword Box gained the Lifespan Curse/Blessing divine ability. 201
Pure Yang Golden Eye Art
A Dao Book-level secret transmission used to refine a Pure Yang Golden Eye Spiritual Opportunity.
- Only true disciples may cultivate it. 119
- Requires a high-grade treasure to transform the sea of consciousness and open the eye. 119
- Its specific divine ability differs according to the user's cultivation system. 119
- Enables observation of cultivation, combat, and killing, while supporting prediction and the search for a viable path through dangerous battles. 118 119 135
- The Pure Yang Golden Eye is required to comprehend techniques contained in the Pure Yang Sword Diagram. 119
Sword Momentum
Sword Momentum is a required Destiny Constitution for Pure Yang Heaven disciples.
- Extracts a cultivator's purest Dao rhythm and fuses it into sword techniques. 113
- Can fundamentally alter the attribute of sword qi and greatly amplify its killing power. 113
- Jing Qian's Sumeru-based Heaven Opening Sword Momentum more than doubled the force of his sword strikes shortly after its formation. 113
- Different Heavenly Destinies can evolve their own compatible sword momenta, including Hell, Reincarnation, Jambudvipa, and Origin Qi variants. 113
Pure Yang Titles
Pure Yang Heaven possesses a complete Title advancement path leading directly to a Venerable Title.
- Titles are refined through combat experience, killing, battle qi, and slaughter. 134 135
- Jing Qian condensed the Pure Yang Human Butcher Title, which gave his sword intent a sharper slaughter-oriented edge. 134
- A mid-grade Title qualifies a cultivator to begin cultivating in the void. 134
Calamity Lord Path
Pure Yang Heaven's secret technique follows the Calamity Lord path: acting through tribulation, refining the Dao through disaster, and controlling the emergence and extinction of calamities. 231
- Pure Yang Children naturally attract tribulations and accumulate calamity qi. 156 229
- The lineage traditionally confronts tribulations directly, using battle and victory to refine itself. 156
- Breaking one tribulation often creates new enemies and karma, causing greater future tribulations. 156
- The Pure Yang Reincarnation Scripture transforms, disperses, absorbs, and uses calamity qi; it was lost for one hundred thousand years before its recovery. 231 232
- Pure Yang Tribulation Treasures forged through the Scripture begin at least at First Rank (Subordinate) and can continue growing by absorbing tribulation qi. 232

Story Role / Major Arcs
Academy Succession
Jing Qian's decision to join Pure Yang Ruins shocked the Academy's other candidates because of the sect's reputation as a “God Pit.” His immediate defeat of an Impermanence Temple challenger announced that the declining lineage had found a new successor. 115
Restoration of the Ying Floating Pagoda Realm Branch
Shang Xi's Star Plucking advancement and the destruction of the Blood River Sect, Impermanence Temple, and Mirror Cloud Shrine restored Pure Yang Heaven's standing in the realm. Shang Xi accepted responsibility for the karma that those fallen sects would leave behind. 133
Departure from the Old Cave Heaven
After becoming Sect Master, Jing Qian moved the Pure Yang Cave Heaven into Sumeru. The relocation turned a dwindling local sect into a distributed inheritance system that could recruit and train disciples from across the Myriad Heavens and Worlds through Pure Yang Rings. 201
War Mobilization
When war against the Heavenly Devil Palace and Spirit Mountain Great Temple approached, Jing Qian consulted the Pure Yang Children through the Sword Lotus Pond. Zhu Yun, Chi Miao, and Shang Xi all agreed to participate. 212
Conflict with Xuanyuan
Jing Qian deliberately provoked the Xuanyuan Sword Sect, live-broadcasting the confrontation to the Pure Yang Children through a Sword Lotus. His capture of the Xuanyuan Sword with the Pure Yang Sword Diagram triggered a full-scale clash between the two sword lineages. 229 230
The conflict stirred the vast calamity qi accumulated by both sects. Pure Yang Heaven used the Pure Yang Reincarnation Scripture to convert this tribulation energy into Spiritual Opportunities, collective enhancement, and a renewed offensive against Dao Ancestor ruins. 231 232 233
Grand Tournament of the World's Foremost Sword Dao
Jing Qian summoned the Pure Yang Children to the Million Palace ruins for the tournament. His opening match against Zhu Yun demonstrated the diversity of the lineage's combined Sword Box, Sword Array, and Sword Body methods. 301
Trivia
- Pure Yang Heaven's disciples are infamous for choosing the most dangerous available solution, even when a simpler path exists. 232
- The sect's predecessors are said to have only a few friends across the heavens but “thousands upon thousands” of enemies. 135
- Pure Yang Children often leave their home realms as early as the Fifth Rank Earth Fiend or Sixth Rank Subduing Spirits stages, far earlier than disciples of most other lineages. 161
- Despite its reputation for aggression, the lineage views avoiding an unwinnable battle as part of proper Pure Yang cultivation. 118 135
