Background / History

On 11 July 2050, the War Zone descended upon Earth. Every human simultaneously perceived it as a new organ naturally integrated into the brain, while the event’s sudden mental interference caused worldwide accidents despite extensive warnings and preparations 3.

Its arrival opened access to the Artificial Divine Realms. On the first day, tens of millions of people entered trials; within seven days, nearly all 8.4 billion humans had undergone an otherworldly journey. Participants who returned brought back Martial Arts, Daoist Arts, Innate Qi, and Destiny Clusters, rapidly destabilizing the old world order 4 77.

The War Zone’s deeper purpose is to build walls and protect the main world. By dispatching cultivators into Artificial Divine Realms, it develops stronger systems across the dimensional barrier formed by those realms, which isolates most lingering threats from the demon god era 346.

After the completion of Two Realms Mountain, the War Zone entered semi-retirement because the project could perform much of its practical work. Its role as the coordination core of the multidimensional city-wall network nevertheless remained indispensable 363.

Capabilities & Protocols

Artificial Divine Realm Trials

The War Zone summons humans to Artificial Divine Realm trials and allows them to retain wealth and power obtained there. Even people in vegetative states may accept its summons; those who lose their initial qualification can reapply after completing Destiny Cluster cultivation 4.

• During the first trial, participants returned uniformly at noon on the seventh day; those who stayed behind permanently lost that first-trial opportunity 77.
• Later trials have eligibility requirements and dynamically adjusted difficulty, rather than the broad access of the first trial 77 90.
• Deployment preserves a cultivator’s original body and cultivated power rather than forcing soul transmigration 254.
• It may arrange identities for cultivators unless they explicitly refuse. These identities can be verified superficially, but may not withstand thorough scrutiny in advanced worlds 117.
• Return requires a safe, stable environment free of interference from another person’s psionic energy or Innate Qi; attaching such energy to a returning cultivator is treated as a declaration of war 76.

Mission Assignment and Adjustment

The War Zone assigns objectives ranging from survival trials to open-ended investigations. Its missions may have unlimited duration when the situation warrants it 108 258.

• It dynamically adjusts a trial when unforeseen events raise its difficulty beyond the intended level, preventing unnecessary casualties 103.
• A cultivator who actively reports a transmigrator anomaly can cause the next Artificial Divine Realm type to be locked into a category suitable for trapping that anomaly 103.
• It communicates through panels and vision-only prompts; it also warned Lan Yi when fragments of the disintegrating Ghost Face Space fell toward him 103 141.
• For unfamiliar coordinates, it can conduct targeted exploration and provide basic world information, though hidden dangers and deeper history must still be uncovered by the cultivators themselves 223.

Transmigrator Anomaly Suppression

When a psionic cultivator reports a transmigrator anomaly, the War Zone may ask them to serve as bait. If accepted, it begins sting operations in a new Artificial Divine Realm to lure out the anomaly’s reincarnators 103.

• Artificial Divine Realms possess self-correction logic that suppresses unreasonable reincarnators and can turn local psionic cultivators against them 103.
• If the reincarnators fail to kill the bait, the anomaly cannot escape; it is gradually absorbed by the realm, after which the War Zone erases its remaining traces 103.
• Successful bait operations can be rewarded with permanent realm access, border-expansion protection, important clues, or information from previous eras 103.
• It encourages cultivators to resolve dangerous forces inside Artificial Divine Realms rather than allowing those threats to lock onto and cross into the main world 223.

Rewards and Enforcement

The War Zone rewards effective trial participation with practical information, resources, and occasionally Destiny Clusters. Such rewards can raise a cultivator to the Fourth Energy Level, with exceptional individuals potentially reaching the Fifth 149 224.

• It generally does not harshly punish mission failure, but cultivators who commit indiscriminate slaughter or act against its intended order can be made to die through seemingly mysterious means 346.
• Captured cultivators can sometimes be extracted if they are sufficiently tactful 224.
• Its treatment of a dead Artificial Divine Realm can be notably detached: in the Mega-structure World trial, it only requested historical information rather than demanding that cultivators save the world 258.

Dimensional Defense

The War Zone maintains a vast spacetime barrier composed of Artificial Divine Realms and Time Disk regions. This barrier isolates 99.999% of the lingering covetousness left from the demon god era 346.

• Its fundamental responsibility is to protect the main world and maintain the “walls” separating it from hostile multiversal forces 346.
• It can accept compatible high-dimensional systems; its acceptance of a new high-dimensional computer allowed Lin Cheng to infiltrate its core 346.
• The construction of Two Realms Mountain freed the War Zone to devote more resources to its irreplaceable coordination duties 363.
