Ji Qiu spent years cultivating without the guidance of a renowned master, leaving him stuck at the Transcendent realm despite being one of the strongest martial artists around Clear Spring Mountain. He eventually learned of a powerful martial artist leading the Clear Spring Sect and regarded the discovery as finally finding a sect to rely on. 186 268

After Roger disappeared from Clear Spring Mountain, Ji Qiu took charge of the sect's investigation. He publicly concluded that Roger had ascended to the Heavenly Human Realm, rallying the disciples around the goal of reviving the sect and restoring martial arts. When later evidence suggested Roger had nearly killed the god Kui Nan, Ji Qiu escalated the claim: Roger was not an Immortal, but a Celestial God. 191 192 231
