Background / History

Ophelia is Earl Johnson's daughter. Her mother's low status and early death left Ophelia isolated within the Johnson manor: she was avoided by others despite her noble blood, and her father showed her little affection. As a child, she shared food and companionship with Adam, then regarded as the manor's fool; he was the only person who did not deliberately shun her. 5

Her circumstances changed after she displayed exceptional talent at age ten. She became powerful enough to fear accidentally harming Adam, and the increasingly dangerous conditions of her training kept them apart. Instead, she arranged for Adam to work with her horses, giving him a means of survival in the manor. 5

By the time Adam awakened, Ophelia had become a Great Knight. She drove Marshall and Dennis away from Adam's bedside, treated Adam with rare mage-made healing ointment, and secured his freedom from Earl Johnson's attempt to bind him to the family. 4 5 6

During the Magical Beast assault on the Mordo Academy ship, Ophelia leaves William's alliance to stay with Adam and Krystal. Body Refinement Contract

After Adam's violent conflict with other apprentices, Ophelia withdraws from the Academy's social sphere. She signs a contract with a Body Refining Mage and disappears to pursue her own specialization. 34

On Madera Island, Ophelia investigates the God Priests' flesh-based powers, identifies the Bone Staff as an energy converter made from a young girl's body, and destroys it in anger.
