Biology and Society
Origin Fire, Power Furnace, and Body
A Titan consists of three interdependent components: an Origin Fire, a Power Furnace, and a metal body. All three must advance together during evolution. The Origin Fire functions as a Titan's soul, processor, senses, and command center, while the Power Furnace supplies the energy needed to operate its body and weapon systems. 231
- Seed of Fire Language — The “programming” knowledge that lets an Origin Fire understand alloys, Energy Circuits, and installed systems. A Titan cannot properly control materials or circuitry its Seed of Fire does not understand. 231
- Transformative bodies — Titans can freely alter their forms, allowing individuals to serve in different frontline roles. 225
- Maintenance — Metal bodies and Power Furnaces require polishing, grinding, cleaning, lubrication, refueling, and repair. 225
- Passing the Fire — A surviving fireseed can be preserved and used to continue the race through the birth of a new Titan. 223
Royal Clan
The Titan royal clan is not a hereditary nobility. A Titan earns royal or quasi-royal status through evolution and the purification of its composition; names made of a single metal atom, such as Iron, Gold, or Copper, identify royal and quasi-royal Titans. 224
Royal clan members do not receive greater privileges than ordinary Titans. Instead, they bear the obligation of confronting the Gold Devourers' Hyperdimensional individuals, serving as both the first and last line of defense for their race. 224
Values and Military Culture
Titans regard the continuation of their race as more important than individual survival. They collect the fireseeds of fallen kin, share resources with Newborns, and willingly self-destruct their Origin Fires when doing so can protect others or preserve the future of the race. 223 230 277
Battle Merit is the primary means of obtaining higher-level resources, knowledge, and modifications. It is earned through combat against Gold Devourers or by converting spoils of war. 225 231
“Passing the fire from generation to generation is every Titan's mission. As long as the last cluster of Sparks still burns, the Titans will not perish.” — Blue Water 457 230
Background and History
Creation of the Gold Devourers
In ancient times, a Titan royal sage used cells from another plane to create the Gold Devourers as companion creatures. They were intended to refine minerals, convert energy, maintain Seed Sources, and act as external weapons for Titans. 226
An operational error allowed one Hyperdimensional Gold Devourer to defect. It turned the rest of its kind against their creators, devoured vast amounts of Origin Fire, and led the Gold Devourers in occupying three-fifths of the Titan Plane. The surviving Titans were forced into a defensive war along hundreds of border cities, including Iron Fortress. 226
Decline of the Titan Plane
The Gold Devourer king rebelled 4,450 years before Adam's arrival, proclaimed itself the Devourer, and became the plane's strongest being. Its invasion of the Titan Plane's Origin severed the Titans' path of advancement; Swasey King, who advanced 4,300 years earlier, was the last Titan to enter the royal race for millennia. 251
The Titan God disappeared long before the current era, leaving behind a protective mechanism within the Origin. This mechanism delayed the Devourer's complete takeover, but left the Titans in a prolonged state of decline and passive defense. 251
Contact with Adam and the Mage World
Adam first entered Titan society under the identity of the Newborn Mithril 99. His support during the defense against a Gold Devourer swarm earned him the trust of Iron Fortress's patrol teams, particularly Ranfeng 222 and Blue Water 457. 223 228 229
Adam later used Titan resources and his own knowledge to develop embedded armor, advanced alloys, electromagnetic weapons, force-field systems, Weapon Space technology, and more efficient Energy Block production. These changes significantly increased Titan combat strength and transformed York City into a major industrial center. 240 258 259
Total War and Alliance
When the Gold Devourers prepared for total war, the Titans fought alongside Adam against the Devourer and its Dirus forces. They sacrificed territory, Floating Fortresses, Power Furnaces, and members of the Royal Clan to disrupt the Devourer's altar network and delay the collapse of their plane. 274 277 283 286
After the Mage World intervened, the Titans accepted a subordinate-race agreement: they would cooperate with mage command during war in exchange for the survival and resettlement of their people. 292 293
Rebirth and Migration
Following the final battle, the surviving Titan Kings and Hyperdimensional Mages reconstructed the Titan God's remains using the Seed Source. The resulting Newborn Titan emerged with Level Seven Energy Fluctuation and declared that the Titans had found a new road to power. 305
Veiga Mo inherited the Titan legacy, became the foremost Titan King, and formalized the Titans' place as a subordinate race of the Mage World. The Titans subsequently began migrating from their original homeland to the New Titan Plane. 306 331
Capabilities and Warfare
Battle Forms and Combat Roles
Titan bodies are weapons by design. Their ability to transform enables them to fill offensive, defensive, energy, and auxiliary roles in frontal warfare. 225
- Offensive Titans — Use speed, hardened alloy bodies, melee weapons, and direct charges to break enemy formations. 227
- Defensive Titans — Hold the front of Battle Formations, absorb attacks, and shield weaker allies. 227 228
- Energy Titans — Operate Energy Circuits, bombard enemies, and sustain force fields with Energy Blocks. 227 277
- Auxiliary Titans — Provide specialized support; their relatively fragile bodies make Plugins and external armaments particularly valuable. 233
Origin Fire Weapon Systems
Titans project Seed Source energy through Energy Circuits installed in their bodies and Power Furnaces. Initial Power Furnace modifications are categorized as offensive, defensive, energy, or auxiliary, allowing individuals to specialize their development. 225
- Defense Shields and force fields — Used to coordinate formations and protect cities from sustained bombardment. 227 277
- Energy Cannons — Standard long-range weapons capable of continuous volleys when supported by Energy Blocks. 227 277
- Self-destruction — Titans can detonate their Origin Fires or Power Furnaces to destroy enemies when survival is impossible. 230 277 286
Modernized Construct Warfare
After adopting mage knowledge, Titans integrated full-body construct modifications into their Battle Forms. They began mounting large-caliber gun barrels throughout their bodies, installing secondary Energy Cores, and connecting additional circuitry to their Power Furnaces. 443
- Titan Battle Formations can deliver coordinated artillery barrages capable of clearing large numbers of enemies. 443
- Hyperdimensional Titans often serve as the spearhead of major assaults. 462
- Refinement through Adam's Electromagnetic Number can reduce a Titan's size while increasing its mass and strength. 423
Equipment and Technology
- Energy Blocks — Standard fuel inserted into Power Furnaces to replenish combat energy. 225 228
- Plugins and external armaments — Interfaced equipment that protects weak areas such as the Power Furnace or adds specialized functions. 233
- Embedded armor — Custom armor that can replace weak low-level body sections and immediately raise a Newborn's combat ability. 242 243
- Force-field generators — Defensive equipment used by both individual Titans and Battle Formations. 244 258
- Elemental particle weapons and electromagnetic weapons — Advanced armaments introduced during Adam's industrial reforms. 258
- Corrosion-resistant alloys — High-grade alloys designed to counter Gold Devourer corrosion. 258
- Weapon Space — Spatial-metal Plugins installed in Power Furnaces to store External Armor and deploy it instantly in battle. 258
- Floating Fortresses — Mobile war platforms used in large-scale combat and later repaired and improved by Mage World alchemists. 283 291
- Royal City — The remnants of the Titan God's body, containing a powerful ancient Power Furnace and later rebuilt into a living war weapon. 286 299 305
