Before Locke left, he used the Spirit Macro Mark of the Sea King World to influence the Plane Principle there, adding a third Plane Principle to this small world: his own. Air Pineapples of every color sprang up across the land.
Gang Dingdi, the War God, sensed the intrusion of a foreign Plane Principle.
In the War God Temple, his true body looked down at his arm. An Air Pineapple had bloomed there and was slowly turning. He raised his hand and tried to erase it with his divine arts—his martial techniques.
But no matter how many techniques he tried or how many hand gestures he made, the Air Pineapple did not budge.
"Why?" Gang Dingdi muttered.
"I'm the Ancestral God of the Sea King World, yet he bypassed me and altered its Plane Principle. This Air Pineapple is the foreign Plane Principle he left behind. Before I deal with the Mountain-River Wanderer, I have to remove it. But none of my divine arts have worked. Aren't the divine arts of the Persepolis God Clan supposed to be invincible?"
Divine arts were techniques transformed for gods. Mortals possessed mortal martial arts; he possessed the martial arts of the God Clan.
Civilizations under the Persepolis God Clan always made that distinction. Even within one system of power, mortals and the divine realm occupied at least two separate levels. Among older branches of the clan, the power systems available to mortals could even have three or four levels.
His divine art, the Ten Tribulations of the Heavenly Gods, for example, was something ordinary martial artists could never match.
His role as the War God also placed every martial artist beneath him. That authority was one of the foundations that allowed him to draw on the entire world's resources and ascend to godhood.
