Locke frowned at Edgar, but Edgar seemed serious. He scattered a circle of seeds on the ground, each rapidly taking root and sprouting under his mana. He actually expended three strands of verdant spiritual breath to accelerate their growth, turning them into fully developed Second-Ring War Ancient Trees.
War Ancient Trees were supposed to be Second-Ring treants in the first place. Edgar had simply been unable to fully awaken their power during his first-ring stage, forcing them to remain at the First Ring.
Likewise, the War Nightmares created by the Life Nightmare Locke had encountered in the Emerald Dream had been restricted to the First Ring because their creator had not yet reached the Second Ring.
Now, five War Ancient Trees grew up and transformed into war treants under Edgar's three castings of Wisdom Enlightenment.
Locke looked at Edgar. The wizard was clearly exceptionally skilled at Treant Magic, even more so than himself. The War Ancient Tree treants he transformed were stronger, and he had evidently designed the spell model himself.
The five War Ancient Tree treants joined hands, forming a circle around them.
Together, they formed a wooden wall, enclosing Edgar and Locke.
Outside, the embers of ancient wizards tried to attack the wall, but lightning, fire, and frost alike were absorbed by its imaginary roots and converted into its life energy.
Locke met Edgar's eyes and knew he was serious.
"I understand. All right, if that's what you want, I agree."
Edgar looked astonished. "You don't think I'm being unreasonable?"
Locke looked around. Amid the drifting ash of the era embers, numerous Second-Ring Wizard Kings were charging toward them.
Honestly, at this rate, he would be surrounded.
These era embers were troublesome. They were merely the lingering warmth in burnt-out incense ash; even killing them would give him
