Narak silently leaped onto the roof of Sasuke's house without making a sound, then continued peering down below with his Byakugan activated.
At that moment, in the living room of Sasuke's home, the Second Pillar stared at his parents lying in a pool of blood, their breaths fading, and asked Uchiha Itachi, who was dressed in a black night outfit, with agitation: "Brother, Dad and Mom... why... who did this?"
However, facing Sasuke's question, Uchiha Itachi didn't speak. Instead, he flicked a shuriken at the Second Pillar. The sharp shuriken slashed through Sasuke's arm and embedded itself in the wall behind him.
"Brother, what are you doing?" Sasuke reached out to cover his bleeding arm, staring at his brother in disbelief.
Itachi still didn't answer Sasuke's question.
Sasuke asked again, unwilling to give up: "What are you doing, brother?!"
This time, Itachi finally spoke. He said coldly to Sasuke: "Foolish little brother."
Then, Itachi activated his Mangekyō Sharingan against Sasuke.
As the ocular jutsu took effect, Sasuke was pulled into the illusion Itachi had cast. In the illusion, Sasuke saw how his brother had mercilessly slaughtered the clan—one familiar face after another falling to his brother's blade, until finally, even his own parents were brutally killed by Itachi.
This bloody scene replayed over and over in Sasuke's mind. Poor Sasuke, only eight years old—how could he accept such a reality? His fragile mental defenses shattered instantly.
When the illusion ended, a mentally broken Sasuke collapsed to the ground, staring blankly at his brother with vacant eyes.
"Why... why... brother," Sasuke asked over and over.
Faced with Sasuke's relentless questioning, Itachi only said: "To test my own abilities."
Sasuke looked at him in disbelief, struggling to get up from the ground.
"Test... abilities? For that, you killed everyone..."
"Because this is important," Itachi replied.
"Important? Are you kidding me?" Enraged, Sasuke somehow found the strength to throw a punch at Itachi.
"Boom."
With a single blow, Itachi punched Sasuke in the stomach and knocked him to the ground.
Lying on the floor, Sasuke looked up at Itachi, tears slowly welling in his eyes.
Itachi took a step toward him, and the terrified Sasuke scrambled to his feet, stumbling and running out of the house, shouting: "So scary... don't kill me... don't kill me..."
The broken Sasuke sprinted down the street, but after only a few steps, he came to an abrupt halt—Itachi was standing right in front of him.
Staring at Itachi, Sasuke still couldn't believe it. He forced himself to stay calm and said: "This is all a lie. You didn't do this, brother, because you..."
Before he could finish, Itachi cut him off: "The reason I kept playing the role of the brother you expected was to test your abilities. You will become the one who measures my power. You have that potential hidden inside you."
"You will resent me. You will hate me. You will always long to surpass me. That's why I'm letting you live."
"You and I are the same—people who might awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan."
"But there's a condition: you have to kill your closest friend with your own hands."
Then, Itachi revealed to Sasuke the secrets of the Uchiha Clan's ocular jutsu and his expectations for him.
Finally, he said to Sasuke: "But right now, you're not even worth killing, foolish little brother."
"If you want to kill me, hate me. Despise me. Then cling to life, ugly and pathetic."
"Run. Seize that thread of survival. And one day, when you have the same eyes as me, come before me."
With that, Itachi unleashed the power of his Sharingan on Sasuke. Already terrified out of his wits, Sasuke was instantly knocked unconscious by the force.
Narak watched the melodramatic farce below finally end and couldn't help but curl his lip.
He still remembered the matter of Itachi wiping out the Uchiha Clan.
It started with the Uchiha Clan growing arrogant, thinking they could take over as the village's leaders, and planning a rebellion to overthrow the Hokage's regime.
Unfortunately, the Konoha higher-ups had seen it all coming. The Uchiha thought their plan was flawless, but the Hokage and Danzo had long woven a net to catch them all.
Faced with this situation, Itachi chose to personally slaughter the entire clan, with the condition that his beloved little brother be spared, allowing Sasuke to continue living peacefully in Konoha.
As an older brother, Itachi had gone to great lengths for Sasuke.
"System, check in." Ignoring Sasuke lying unconscious below, Narak addressed the system.
"Ding, check-in successful."
"Congratulations, host. This check-in has awarded: Advanced Spiritual Pressure, Advanced Flash Step, Kido Sequence 30–60, Hado Sequence 30–60, Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms (Mastery)."
As the system's voice faded, Narak felt the power within him surge instantly. The overwhelming strength filled him with a sense of fullness.
At that moment, Narak felt he could shatter the space before him with a single punch. Of course, he knew this was just an illusion from suddenly gaining immense power that he couldn't yet fully control.
"Yosh, finally broke through to Advanced Spiritual Pressure. And Flash Step reached advanced too. With Advanced Flash Step's speed, no one in the Naruto world can catch me in short-range movement. This risky trip wasn't a waste."
Narak clenched his fist and began slowly familiarizing himself with the power inside him.
"Narak-kun, sneaking onto someone else's rooftop to spy late at night—as the eldest son of the Hyuga Clan, that's hardly polite behavior."
Suddenly, a faint voice came from behind Narak.
Startled, Narak used Flash Step to leave his spot.
After advancing to Advanced Flash Step, Narak's speed was more than double what it had been.
The terrifying speed secretly surprised Itachi behind him.
Narak was very fast—many people in Konoha knew this, but before today, it had mostly been hearsay. Now that he had witnessed it firsthand, Itachi still found it deeply shocking.
"Narak-kun, I've always heard you were fast, but seeing it for myself today, I know your reputation is well-deserved. At your speed, you're likely not far behind the Body Flicker Shisui of his day. The only one who could definitely outpace you would be the Fourth Hokage with his Flying Thunder God Technique. But both of them have passed away. Now, I, Uchiha Itachi, declare you the fastest man alive."
Flickering to another rooftop, Narak glanced at Itachi from the corner of his eye, avoiding direct eye contact to prevent him from casting genjutsu.
"Hey, hey, let's get this straight—I'm fast at moving, not at other things. Calling a man 'fast' is an insult, you know," Narak said with dissatisfaction.
"..." Itachi's face was lined with exasperation.
I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you, and you're turning it into a dirty joke? We're both minors—can't we just chat pleasantly?
