Nature and Purpose
Little Garden stands at the center of infinite worlds and observes the wider multiverse. Its observation mechanism records outside worlds, allowing myths, legends, beings, and phenomena to be incorporated into its structure. 203 493
It is not the private property of any one deity. It is a shared instrument of the Gods and Buddhas, created to maintain their Spirits and governed through a central core without an independent will. 233 433
- The core may be deceived or bypassed by sufficiently powerful beings. 233
- Worlds shielded from its observation cannot normally be incorporated until that protection is removed or circumvented. 205
- A person or mythology brought under observation may be assimilated into the corresponding established existence within Little Garden. 333 567
- The core’s observation mechanism was temporarily reversed during the Celtic Pantheon’s restoration, allowing Little Garden’s data to be imposed on other worlds before being observed again. 516
Structure
Layers and Outer Gates
Little Garden is divided into Upper and Lower Layers, with Outer Gates classified by Rank. A Community’s Outer Gate determines its standing, though occupying a higher-ranked Gate requires the strength to defend it. 435 574
| Rank / Area | Known significance |
|---|---|
| Second Rank Outer Gate | Territory of the highest-ranking entities, including the Halloween Queen’s Celtic Pantheon domain. 619 |
| Third Rank Outer Gate | Domain associated with major pantheons, including the Celtic Pantheon before its later advancement. 516 |
| Fourth Rank Community | The highest practical Community tier outside the Upper Layer; such Communities may contend for Layer Ruler status. 435 593 |
| Sixth Rank Outer Gate | A stable level with the greatest number of Communities. 593 |
| Seventh Rank Outer Gate | The weakest Outer Gate; Communities here often consist largely of ordinary mortals and may occupy dangerous, remote land. 574 |
Districts and Layer Rulers
The Lower Layer is organized around four major districts, each administered by a Layer Ruler Community. After the war, the Layer Ruler system gained wider authority and prestige as Communities relied on it to rebuild and govern their regions. 647
- North District — Salamandra’s domain; Saigō previously sealed the district with the Wind of Decay. 203
- West District — Governed by the Avalon Community under King Arthur/Artoria. 577
- East District — Former headquarters region of Arcadia and the Nameless Community. 595
- South District — A region marked by frequent Gift Games and instability after major conflicts. 595
Communities
Communities function as nations within Little Garden. Large Communities can rule whole regions, while smaller ones may control only an Outer Gate or a distant corner of one. 248 574
- Communities receive access to territory and infrastructure according to their status. 574
- A Community without sufficient strength to hold its position risks being challenged or destroyed. 435
- A nameless Community lacks even basic territorial rights, including reliable access to water and other necessities. 568
- The rebuilt Avalon Community was established in the Lower Layer and positioned to become a Fourth Rank Community. 435
Rules and Systems
Gift Games
Gift Games are Little Garden’s fundamental system of competition and survival. Under Saigō’s stated rule, the winner takes everything while the loser forfeits everything. 190
- Defeated Communities may lose their flags, possessions, status, and members. 190 568
- Gift Games can allow lower-ranked participants to defeat stronger opponents under the right conditions. 619
- The central system can halt a Gift Game when a qualified authority invokes its rules. 605
- Failure is especially dangerous below the Third Rank, where participants may lose all they possess. 541
Demon Kings and Organizer Authority
Organizer Authority is intended for Upper Layer Gods and Buddhas to oppose Demon Kings. Lower Layer residents who forcefully use it become Demon Kings themselves. 599
- Demon Kings exploit Little Garden’s rules rather than following them. 541
- Their Gift Games can legally reduce defeated people to slaves, tools, or possessions. 568 577
- The destruction of Arcadia demonstrated how a coordinated Demon King group could cripple even the Lower Layer’s largest alliance. 198 567
Resources and Boundary Gates
Little Garden’s resources are abundant, but all are owned or managed by designated authorities. Light, water, and land each have corresponding deities or holders. 219
- Powerful Communities may freely use resources within their domains. 219
- Weak Communities may need to pay even to obtain water. 219
- Boundary Gates enable instantaneous travel between distant districts; without them, even powerful fliers require considerable time to cross Little Garden. 250
Inhabitants and Power Hierarchy
Little Garden’s hierarchy is strict, and bloodline strongly affects a being’s potential. Divine Spark can elevate an individual into the highest form of their race, though it does not itself make someone a god. 255
| Group | Position in Little Garden |
|---|---|
| Innate Gods and Buddhas | The most numerous of the three strongest races and the principal creators and occupants of the divine order. 444 645 |
| Spirits of the Planets | One of the three strongest races; includes beings such as Solar Spirits. 443 444 |
| Pure-blooded Dragons | The rarest of the three strongest races because they are difficult for the core to observe as phenomena and processes. 444 |
| Second Rank / Domain Holders | The supreme powers of Little Garden, possessing mythological futures and the ability to influence its core systems. 373 612 |
| Third Rank | Upper-echelon beings who can move freely within Little Garden but risk catastrophic collateral damage outside it. 376 |
| Fourth Rank | Powerful figures capable of reaching at least star-shattering strength outside Little Garden; a Fourth Rank Community can contend for Layer Ruler status. 576 593 |
Major Historical Events
Creation of the Observation System
The four Primordial Goddesses established Little Garden’s foundational system through Goodness, Evil, and Karma. Later Innate Gods and Buddhas developed the Little Garden Observation Mechanism, enabling other beings to pursue advancement toward the Second Rank. 645
Saigō’s Return
Saigō returned to Little Garden through his connection to the Mother of Evil Gods and reclaimed the Spirit of Malice in Moon Shadow City. His demonic power swept across the Lower Layer, beginning a period of upheaval. 185
He subsequently sealed the North District with the Wind of Decay, preventing its inhabitants from leaving while allowing outsiders to enter at the risk of falling under his control. 203
Collapse of Arcadia
The Arcadia Grand Alliance suffered catastrophic losses in its conflict with a Demon King, losing roughly seventy percent of its combat strength before a Demon King collective destroyed its remaining structure. Arcadia’s flag was taken, reducing it to a Nameless Community and scattering or exiling many members. 198 568
Canary later returned and helped restore the Community’s stability, raising it from the Seventh Rank to the Sixth Rank. 581 593
Rebirth of the Celtic Pantheon
With Saigō’s support, the Halloween Queen integrated Britain and its Fairy Kingdom into Little Garden. The process gave Little Garden sufficient Celtic mythological and human elements to recognize the Celtic Pantheon’s rebirth. 433 434 516
The restored pantheon became irreversible unless Little Garden itself was destroyed, and the Halloween Queen became its acknowledged lord. 516
Era of World Preservation
The crisis of the Decadent Wind and the ensuing war caused severe losses across both Layers. After the conflict, Little Garden returned from the Era of World Destruction to the Era of World Preservation, with Communities rebuilding damaged territories through Boons. 645 647
