• The diviner revealed that Rhodes Cards, cult rituals, and ancient groups were parts of efforts to find a way for civilization to survive Doomsday.
• Laplace Klein Howard explained that Miracle, Blasphemy, Enlightenment, and Whisper corresponded to the group’s four members: the Angel, the Demon, the civilization’s Saviour, and Luvia.
• Shade smashed through the brass door and knocked the Door in a Bottle out of Laplace Klein Howard, stripping the Ancient Evil Being of its ability to resist.
• Shade entered the fire’s central clearing and found an Old God statue beside a lantern identical to the one from Sin Mansion; Sister Devlin removed the lantern, collapsing the sealing ritual.

• The Butterfly Wings Girl speculated that Dorothy and Leisha had joined the Chosen One of Space through her Thaumaturgy, and said her full power could contaminate their souls.
• Grandma Cassandra reported that Sister Devlin had advanced to the Twelfth Ring, and Miss Aurora told Shade that the Guardian of the Earth wanted to speak with him in Randall River Valley.
• Shade asked Luvia for a hug and told her that he had been born because of her.
• The Great Witches spotted Speaker Isabella arriving, so Shade transformed into a silver cat and hid beneath Miss Galina’s skirt.
