He later accepted a commission from Miss Galina and assembled the requested treasures, arriving at her manor with his heart still reserved for her.

• Shade used Gluttony to draw the Guardians’ corruption into a banquet, then helped Iluna delay the evil god’s descent until he could challenge the Stone Heart Demon.
• Shade defeated the Stone Heart Demon as the God of the Moon, joined the arriving God of Sun and Earth, and held a feast that spread the earth’s power across Randall River Valley.
• Shade absorbed Mad Earth into the Flowering Holy Grail and fell unconscious, then recovered at Benanice Manor and told Luvia he was fine.

Shade recovered from the cost of absorbing the Earth’s Origin, explored new powers and the Heart of the Earth Furnace, and began investigating the Edwards Family. The arc ended with Shade pursuing a two-bodied monster through a mirror at the opera house, where two men suddenly appeared.

• Shade offered Galina his heart as the fifth treasure, and they confessed their feelings before spending the night together.
• Shade and Doctor Schneider visited Bishop Morpheus, then discussed Captain Woody’s death and the memories Shade carried from the Randall River Valley.
• Shade fell gravely ill after swallowing the Origin of the Earth's Distortion, and Luvia, Galina, Dorothy, and others cared for him until he recovered.

Shade entered the Around-Tobesk Spring Equestrian Competition, won its events and championship, and encountered the Faceless Man while investigating attacks tied to the Mirror Society. Afterward, the Academy cleared his companions, and Shade donated half his prize money to renovate a welfare institute.

• Shade registered for the competition, underwent the Academy’s background interview, and learned that the Faceless Man was active in Tobesk.
• Shade attended the opening banquet, then injured Earl Lewis as part of a Gray Gloves mission and won his archery round before playing Rhodes Cards with the Follen brothers.

Shade used an ancient Time Key to enter a ruined future, then traveled to the Green Lake Region to investigate the Chosen One of Space and the Edwards Family. He found Rotten Tail Fish and uncovered a family tree linking Alphonse’s descendants to Audrey Edwards and the Follen twins.

• Galina gave Shade a White Stone Crystal and a flint, while Luvia divined that the Chosen One of Space might appear in Green Lake City or Mikella Blast Furnace City.
• Shade entered the Final Epoch with Mr. Edmund’s Time Key, defeated the fused Smith couple, and gained the Twin Lovers card, which could summon them at the cost of hastening disaster.
• Shade traveled to the Green Lake Region, met Captain Rades and Professor Brownell, and learned about the border tensions and restrictions on Green Lake’s Central Island.
• Shade entered the Lost Forest through another Time Key and joined Areira Andreana, Clara, Zaffir, and Dika in a story created by the God of Travelers.
• Shade and the group faced the Candy House and the Boatman, but Shade was barred from the boat while the others crossed the river.
