On Saturday morning, as Shade sat at the dining table and used Thaumaturgy, a three-tiered bookshelf with the dreamlike colors of the Star Sea appeared beside him. Under Mia and Dorothy's astonished gazes, Shade took a translucent book from the shelf, its cover and spine bearing the same Star Sea hues.

The bookshelf beside him vanished. He flipped through the book in his hand, held it out for Mia to sniff, then handed it to Dorothy. Dorothy curiously opened it and saw a colored "photograph" of a breathtaking young woman in a long red dress, with golden hair and emerald-green eyes:

"It really does resemble my Thought Writing Thaumaturgy. Oh, you really met Miss Benanis!"

Dorothy was exceptionally surprised:

"Even when Leisha visited Kasonlik last year, she didn't get to meet that Baroness. I'm so jealous. What a pity I can't go to Randall River Valley, or I'd definitely go listen to her sing with you."

Miss Writer's regret was heartfelt. Miss Vanessa Benanis had not given a public performance in years, and hearing her sing again was an almost impossible wish.
