In short, after Shade went home to pick up the cat that had been reluctant to go out, he hurried from Green Lake Inn back to Mikella Blast Furnace City.
The weather had clearly been quite nice that morning, but by the time the carriage carrying Shade returned to Buck Manor, where Margaret was staying, the sky had already been covered in dark clouds. The falling raindrops formed curtains that drove away the steaming heat of the spring afternoon.
Amid the pattering rain, Shade ran into the manor with the cat in his arms. He then had lunch with Miss Sylvia and spent a pleasant afternoon in the study. Of course, the two mainly discussed the situation in the Green Lake Region. Miss Sylvia had wanted to share some tenderness with him in other ways, but although she had arrived in the Green Lake Region, the goods she had prepared were still on the way.
At four o'clock that sunday afternoon, Margaret returned to the manor to change into her formal evening gown and prepare for that night's banquet. Seeing Shade in the study filled her with delight:
"Shade, long time no see. How have you been lately?"
She gave Shade an equally enthusiastic hug, then rapidly began talking about all the changes she had experienced since becoming a Witch Apprentice, as well as the new abilities she had learned from Miss Benanis.
Miss Sylvia watched them converse with a smile, but still reminded Margaret not to delay the banquet.
However, Shade and Miss Sylvia only attended the first two hours of the banquet that evening. At around eight o'clock, after bidding Margaret farewell and meeting up with Megan, who had also made an appearance at the banquet, they returned to Buck Manor early.
