Shade did not linger long at Rose Manor. After breakfast, he bid farewell to the ladies of the Cavendish family and returned to Green Lake Inn with Little Mia.
Pushing open the inn's door, he was just wondering what to do today when he immediately spotted Luvia, Priest Augustus, Dorothy, and Doctor Schneider sitting together at a table by the wall on the 1st Floor.
The table that had originally been pressed against the wall had been moved to make room for people to sit. Luvia and Dorothy sat on one side, while Priest Augustus and Doctor Schneider sat opposite them, so Shade took a seat across from the two women.
The five greeted one another naturally, as though they were still in Tobesk. People who each had their own secrets simply treated this moment as no different from usual:
"What a strange feeling. Everyone is sitting together, and we're actually outside Tobesk."
Shade commented as he placed the well-fed cat on his lap.
The doctor set down the newspaper in his hand and nodded.
"This morning, I was about to go downstairs for breakfast. When I opened my door and saw the priest passing by my room, I was quite startled too."
Priest Augustus had arrived very late last night, by which time the doctor had already gone to rest. The Old Priest looked to be in excellent spirits and smiled as he shook his head.
"I did not expect it either. I was about to go downstairs for breakfast when the door to the room next to mine opened, and out came the doctor."
"I was even more surprised. When I came downstairs half an hour ago and saw the doctor and priest sitting together, I thought I had accidentally taken the wrong route again."
