Amid the rain, that somewhat strange yet inexplicably memorable whistle gradually faded away. Standing before the flower shop, Shade said in his heart—

His darkened vision gained a slight curvature, but aside from that, Shade saw no traces related to demons. He finally relaxed:
"I didn't sense any elements when we shook hands either. Looks like I was overthinking it. What an interesting person. There should be more interesting people and interesting stories like this in the world, shouldn't there?"
As he thought this, he turned back to look at the wilted rose in the flower shop window, wondering which city he would be in next time when he looked up and saw Demon Scholar Xiao En Asmon walking straight toward him.

Shade slowly picked up his umbrella, extinguished the candle, and put away the half-burned candle:
