"Red Moon Witch Daniste may not be a Council member, but she is still one of the strongest Sorceresses of this era. Before you were even born, I witnessed her climb step by step to the Thirteenth Ring. Come to think of it, it has been more than twenty years since I last saw her."
"Grandma, are you friends with Miss Danist, or merely acquainted?"
Miss Sylvia asked curiously. She was the youngest here and therefore knew the least.
The Old Witch smiled.
"Friends? We are actually related, though very distantly. Roughly speaking, her great-grandfather's cousin was my grandfather. When I became famous, she was still only a student at Saint Byron's. It was only after we met later that we learned we were relatives. We are not friends, merely distant kin."
Miss Swift, standing behind the Old Witch, was still dazedly working out her teacher's exact relationship with Miss Danist. Shade therefore asked:
"Grandma, then should I go say hello to her?"
