Miss Danist at the window murmured to herself, then turned and looked away from it. But when she looked back toward the study, she saw two girls in black and white dresses standing hand in hand beside the tea table. A swarm of glowing red butterflies circled them, their fiery color making it seem as though everything were burning.
Her pupils constricted, and she instinctively wanted to retreat, only to remember that she was no longer the girl who had yet to graduate all those years ago:
"Angel Level Relic, the Red Butterfly Twins. Yes, counting the time, it is once again a year when you can appear together."
Some memories from her student days rose to the surface. She knew exactly what kind of power the two underage young ladies before her represented. As the most powerful humanoid Angel Level Relics, even though she was now at the Thirteenth Ring, she could not readily claim that she could defeat them:
"It has been a long time. You appeared in Green Lake this time because of... the Old God, the Twins God?"
She suddenly understood and looked at the twins, whose skin was deathly pale, faces gloomy, and lips blood-red, their appearance utterly bizarre. Considering that when Helen had first met Shade in the Sixth Epoch, she had dressed herself up and pretended not to know him, the sisters' acting was quite convincing:
"Wait, you two Humanoid Relics also qualify to become Chosen Ones?"
The red butterflies continued to flutter, but the sisters remained silent. A sinister chill gradually covered everything in the room with white frost. One red butterfly landed before Miss Danist. When the sorceress reached out and touched it, the red butterfly turned into a flame butterfly, and amid the firelight, a slip of paper fell into
