Background

The Taiyin Sacred Ground was an ancient, prestigious force in the Cosmos Cultivation World. Its influence extended widely, though the location of its core sect remained unknown to all but major powers and ancient sects. Its disciples cultivated yin and cold forces through methods related to the Taiyin Laws. 462

The Sacred Ground maintained multiple operational sites, including a heavily protected base in Cosmos City and a base in Wang Kui City of the Sky Zenith Domain. Its Cosmos City formation and accumulated resources formed a major foundation for its operations in the Primal Spirit Domain. 371 374 496

Proposed siege of the Shangqing Sect

The Taiyin Sacred Ground participated in the eight great sects' decision to attack the Shangqing Sect, fearing that the Shangqing True Scripture and the sect's rapid expansion would disrupt the Primal Spirit Domain's balance. 371

Before the allied offensive could begin, the Golden Peng King launched a preemptive strike on the Sacred Ground's Cosmos City base. The Celestial Wheel Shuttle dismantled its protective formation, leaving the base exposed to Great Xia East Wind bombardment. 371 372

The attack destroyed the base and caused severe casualties. Xi Lun's returning forces salvaged remaining Celestial Essence, artifacts, materials, and jade slips, then seized spiritual materials from Reed Flame Valley and demanded compensation for the loss of the formation-breaking treasure. 374 375

Conflict with Black City and Lihu City

Evidence found in Hei Luo's cultivation chamber implicated the Taiyin Sacred Ground in the Black Clan's internal power struggle, escalating tensions with Black City. 462

The Sacred Ground later suffered a public defeat against Great Immortal Weasel and the Myriad Souls Banner. Xi Daozi ordered a retreat to preserve the disciples and Holy Maiden, but the defeat damaged the Sacred Ground's reputation throughout the Cosmos Cultivation World. 468

Xi Yifu subsequently led the Sacred Ground's forces against Lihu City. Although her disciples repeatedly reorganized their defenses under her command, she was captured, rescued by her fellow cultivators, and ultimately killed in the ensuing conflict. Her death was a severe blow to the Sacred Ground's prestige and prompted its remaining elders to reinforce defenses and seek allies. 471 472 474

Internal destabilization

After Xi Yifu's death, Great Immortal Weasel and Hei Feng infiltrated the Sacred Ground in disguise. By staging grief over the Saintess's fall, they gained the trust of Taiyin cultivators and were accepted into Moon Essence Fairy's lineage. 476 478

The pair introduced a false Nine Yin Manual, which initially accelerated disciples' cultivation and purified their yin energy. Its hidden dangers later caused hallucinations, unstable qi, and fears of qi deviation, splitting the Sacred Ground between fanatical supporters and cautious opponents. 483

The elders responded by opening the Scripture Pavilion and investigating the manual, but mistrust and disputes over resources continued to erode internal unity. 484 485

Fall and incorporation into Lihu City

Hei Feng and Great Immortal Weasel later released spirit-devouring poison gas, identified as the effects of Ten Fragrance Tendon Weakening Powder, throughout the Wang Kui City base. The resulting spiritual-energy backlash injured disciples and caused cultivation regressions. 496

While Elder Xuanzhen attempted to stabilize the situation with the Taiyin Purifying Spirit Formation, Lihu City launched a surprise attack and took control of the Sacred Ground. 496

Following the conquest, Hei Feng and Great Immortal Weasel repaired damaged facilities, connected the Sacred Ground to Lihu City through a secret passage, and incorporated willing Taiyin cultivators into the new order. Improved cultivation conditions and Lihu City's resources gradually reduced resistance among the former disciples. 497
