Why did Death fall?
The reason was simple: the Mechanical Demon King could activate this Curse at any time, making Death lose all power to resist, just as before.
Though the loss of resistance would not last long, in a battle at their level, a momentary lapse could lead to defeat. Let alone losing all ability to resist for several seconds—dying a hundred times would be more than enough.
This was the Mechanical Demon King's true scheme. He did not intend to severely wound Death, but to leave him with a fatal Curse. Given the Mechanical Demon King's mastery of the Curse Path, this Curse definitely could not be transferred or even dispelled.
Even if Chthon intervened, he would not be able to dispel it. This was not Death looking down on Chthon; the Mechanical Demon King had used similar methods before, and Chthon truly could not remove them.
The Mechanical Demon King's attainments in the Curse Path were simply too powerful. He often claimed to rank among the top five in the Multiversal Universe. Now, it seemed that was not boasting, but modesty. His Curse Path might well rank first in the Universe.
Death straightened up and could not help sighing. This was truly troublesome. If he did not resolve this, then during the final battle, he could only serve as a cheerleader—or part of the atmosphere crew.
"On my own, I probably can't solve this. Once the battle in the Scripted World is over, I'll discuss it with Chthon, Set, and the others. Although Chthon is unreliable, he is still an expert on Curses. Maybe he can come up with something."
Death sighed, then hesitated again. If he told Chthon about this, would that guy take the opportunity to do something to him?
