Background and History

Ye Fan grew up around spiritual pills and herbs and apprenticed to Physician Di Chen at Medicine Valley. During an incident involving Star Fiend Corpse Poison, his senior brother entered an abnormal state and killed Inner Sect disciples. Ye Fan tried to stop him, but was wrongfully imprisoned; his junior sister Xiao Qing risked herself to save him and was punished. He left Medicine Valley intending to return once he had enough influence to investigate the poisoning 585 1388 1851.

Ye Fan’s medical knowledge brought him into conflict with Yin Wind Hall in Black Wind Town. While questioning courtesans at Purple Beauty Pavilion, he was surrounded by its soul masters and escaped using medicines, injuring the Hall’s Young Master in the process. He later helped Lu Feng and Tang Yuan confront Yong Ye, using poison and a hostage to press for Ling Tian’s release 28 31.

After saving Silk Washing House’s poisoned master and exposing an internal rebellion, Ye Fan was allowed to join its Sword Ruins expedition. On a later journey, three Blade Sects attacked the group. Ye Fan and He Tiantian survived the pursuit into Moon God Palace, where Pu Xin helped stabilize his severe injuries and He Tiantian gave up cultivation to restore his strength 797 1033.

Ye Fan continues to investigate Star Fiend Corpse Poison. He suspects a connection to the Jun Family, but says the person who poisoned his senior brother has not been identified 1388.
