Arc 22The Human Emperors
Fuxi changed the Human Race through new customs, marriage, and the Eight Trigrams before becoming its Heavenly Emperor and passing leadership to Shennong. As Shennong began his rule, Xuan Qing offered Fuxi and Tai Zhen’s son Hui Xi a chance to become his disciple.
- Yuanshi and the Buddhist Saints held a contest on Kunlun Mountain, where Cihang, Chi Jingzi, Guang Chengzi, and Xuandu faced Buddhist opponents before Laozi and Yuanshi fought Jieyin and Zhunti.
- Han Xi guided Fuxi as he became Co-Lord, united tribes, challenged evil-god worship, and developed animal husbandry, fishing, and new customs for the Human Race.
- Fuxi defeated the demons and monsters threatening his people with Kong Xuan’s help, established Human Marriage with Tai Zhen, and later created the Eight Trigrams using the River Diagram, Luo Script, and Xuan Wu’s shell.
- Xuandu guided Shennong as he investigated food shortages, cultivated crops, and identified the Five Grains, while Fuxi completed the Later Heaven Bagua and chose Shennong as his successor.
- Fuxi abdicated to Shennong, became a Saint, and was recognized as the Human Race’s Heavenly Emperor after Han Xi and Nuwa prevented the other Saints from sending him to Fire Cloud Cave.
- Fuxi entrusted the Human Race to Shennong and left with Queen Mother of the West and Cang Shuo, while Xuan Qing advanced after receiving insights from the Three Daos.
- Xuan Qing met Hui Xi beside a river and offered to take him as a disciple, but Hui Xi asked to learn how to change the Human Race.
