Background / History

Nuwa was born alongside her elder brother, Fuxi, and originally cultivated at Phoenix Nest Mountain. After obtaining the root of the Twelve-grade Green Lotus and a share of the Three Lights Divine Water, she gave the lotus stem to Fuxi while keeping the divine water for research into her Law of Creation. Fuxi's Grand Luo breakthrough was partly enabled by the Yin Yang origin Nuwa voluntarily yielded to him. 134 142 143

Xuan Qing and Han Xi later appeared before the siblings. Nuwa immediately recognized that the two were beings beyond her perception and questioned why the Heavenly Dao had concealed the existence of higher realms. After learning that the Heavenly Dao's account of the Primordial World was incomplete, she accepted Xuan Qing as her teacher. 143 149

At Azure Nether Island, Nuwa underwent Qing Ya's demanding instruction and gained access to resources and guidance unavailable elsewhere. Her presence and rapid advancement made her a formidable figure among the Primordial great powers; even Laozi cautioned Yuanshi not to underestimate her. 150 159 188

Nuwa rejected Hongjun's offer to become his disciple because she already recognized Xuan Qing as her teacher. This decision ultimately allowed her to follow the path of Laws and become the Lord of the Human Dao rather than a Heavenly Dao Saint. 196 297 298

After creating the Human Race and attaining the Dao, Nuwa became one of the central protectors of the Primordial World. She opposed the Saints' attempts to exploit Human Dao destiny, fought alongside other Primordial Chaos Great Luo experts during the calamity of the Fierce Beasts, and later repaired the damaged Sky Dome. 318 452 460

Nuwa later oversaw the Human Race's rise through the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, securing Fuxi's reincarnation as the Human Race's Heavenly Emperor and defending Human Dao authority from outside interference. 473 502 781

During the Investiture of the Gods, Nuwa initially entered the tribulation after King Zhou's blasphemy, but Xuan Qing revealed that the Western Saints had manipulated both King Zhou and the broader situation. She is protective of those she considers family or her creations. Although initially reluctant to aid Di Jun, she helped arrange the Heavenly Marriage for Fuxi's sake, protected the Human Race through a public decree, and rescued the oppressed Merfolk despite their being an earlier, imperfect creation. 253 299 300

Nuwa can also be blunt, combative, and proud. She challenged any cultivator coveting her Nine Heavens Breathing Soil, confronted Yuanshi over Yingzhou Island's treasures, and later severely punished Zhunti and Jieyin for scheming against the Human Race. 159 181 562

Her compassion is tempered by an understanding that the Human Race requires hardship to grow. This responsibility causes her guilt when she must refrain from intervening in their calamities. 312 439

Nuwa is a careful and pragmatic guide. She advises Human Emperors and their assistants to condense merit into Merit Golden Wheels rather than using it for superficial cultivation gains, thereby preventing them from becoming dependent on Heavenly Dao Merit. 781
