Background

Ye Fan was born into the Uchiha clan but lacked both chakra and the Uchiha bloodline. Konoha’s internal hawks spread the claim that he was the clan’s “Plague God,” using him to deepen division within the clan. Under pressure from the clan elders, his parents chose suicide in his place, leaving him their savings and urging him to live as an ordinary civilian rather than a ninja 7.

The loss defined Ye Fan’s priorities. He carries guilt over the persecution and deaths of his parents, considers their safety his greatest weakness, and initially pursues Orochimaru and Nagato primarily to learn how to revive them rather than to seek peace for the world 7 13. Ye Fan later traveled with Jiraiya for roughly ten years.
