Background / History

Naruto grew up ostracized by Konohagakure's villagers. His shared isolation formed the basis of his childhood friendship with Ye Fan, who likewise faced persecution within the Uchiha clan 3.

The Third Hokage later confirms that Naruto is Minato Namikaze's son. Minato died sealing the Nine-Tails within Naruto, but the village learned that Naruto carried the beast while being denied the fact that he was the child of a hero 53 54.

When Naruto's resentment over his childhood nearly drives him to revenge, he attacks the senior advisers but stops short of harming Hiruzen. Ye Fan and Jiraiya help him regain control, and Naruto recommits himself to becoming Hokage and bringing peace to the Ninja World 57.

Appearance

Naruto is a young boy with spiky blond hair, noted to strongly resemble Minato Namikaze 56.

Personality

Naruto is loud, optimistic, and exceptionally persistent. He repeatedly confronts opponents far beyond his level rather than abandoning his teammates, including Orochimaru during the Chunin Exams 17 18.

He is fiercely protective of Sasuke and Sakura despite their conflicts. Naruto directly calls out Sasuke's fear, then saves him from Orochimaru's snake attack while injured himself 18 19.

His kindness does not erase the anger caused by his upbringing. After learning the truth of his parentage and mistreatment, he nearly gives in to Kurama's call for revenge, but ultimately chooses mercy and retains his ambition to become Hokage 57.
