Background / History

Li Yi sensed an unavoidable connection to the Witch Clan through Pangu’s essence blood. The Main Body later sensed twelve wills in the Primordial Continent calling their shared bloodline back to its origin; Li Yi regarded the Witch Clan as kin and believed its destined decline could potentially be changed. He anticipated that the clan would possess not twelve, but thirteen Ancestral Witches after the Main Body’s return. 11

When the Twelve Ancestral Witches awakened, Li Yi discovered why the clan could not cultivate the orthodox Immortal Dao: their souls were integrated into their physical bodies and saturated with malevolent energy. The Main Body therefore developed a body-focused inheritance suitable for them rather than relying on their flawed future methods. 46

The clan established a vast city on Buzhou Mountain, protected by an unseen powerhouse that annihilated hostile intruders. In Pangu Hall, billions of Witch people later emerged from the Blood Pool and were organized into twelve attribute-based tribes under the Twelve Ancestral Witches. The Great Venerable supplied their Spiritual Powers, combat techniques, and the Primordial Saint Body cultivation method. 61

Following its rise, the Witch Clan expanded from twelve major cities, subdued outside peoples as outer-sect members, erected divine halls, and demanded worship of the Main Body’s statues. Resisters were secretly refined into essence blood. 79

Organization & Society

Twelve Tribes

The Witch people are divided into twelve tribes based on bodily attributes. Each tribe is commanded by one of the Twelve Ancestral Witches. 61

  • Dijiang — eldest of the Ancestral Witches and principal battlefield leader.
  • Zhurong, Gonggong, Houtu, Jumang, Rushou, Zhujiuyin, Xuanming and the other Ancestral Witches — command their respective tribes and lead major campaigns.
  • Great Witches — elite commanders including Hou Yi, Xing Tian, Kuafu, and Jiu Feng. 88 105

Faith Hierarchy

The clan’s later society centers on reverence for the Great Venerable/Main Body. Divine halls contain statues of the eight-winged Main Body, while greater statues of the Twelve Ancestral Witches and Blood Prison Five Ancestors stand around the Main Body’s image. 88 149

  • Witch God Priests — faith-spreading elites who cultivate the Witch God Codex. They can invoke the divine power of the Main Body, Ancestral Witches, and Blood Prison Five Ancestors. 149
  • Witch God Lineage — the later Witch God Sect’s primary military lineage, consisting of Witch Clan warriors, Blood Prison City forces, and body cultivators. 344
  • Blood Prison Five Ancestors — honored figures whose standing is second only to the Main Body and Twelve Ancestral Witches. 162

Abilities & Skills

Primordial Saint Body

The Witch Clan’s supreme body-cultivation inheritance was created to suit its unique physiology and inability to follow the ordinary Immortal Dao. 46 61

  • Enhances physical bodies into the clan’s principal combat foundation.
  • Produces powerful Great Witches capable of reaching Grand Unity Golden Immortal and beyond. 88
  • Its practitioners often reveal enormous true forms in battle. 106
  • Ordinary Witchmen were originally vulnerable to enemies using Spiritual Treasures until they received methods to forge battle treasures. 88

Battle Patterns and Spiritual Power

Witchmen manifest ferocious battle patterns that emit battle intent and gather into collective Spiritual Power. 91

  • Battle patterns can form defensive shields against hostile pressure. 91
  • Combined Spiritual Power produces elemental and attribute-based attacks, including enormous palms, poison clouds, icebergs, lightning, and vines. 106
  • The power is specifically compatible with Witch Clan bodies and significantly strengthens their combat ability. 91
  • In large groups, their battle intent can form a vortex capable of shaking the heavens. 91

Battle Treasures

The Main Body’s spiritual imprints granted the clan a means of refining ultimate Battle Treasures. 88

  • Allows ordinary Witchmen to better contend with opponents armed with Spiritual Treasures.
  • Used widely during the first Witch–Yao War. 106
  • Saint-level skeletons are later distributed as material for forging stronger treasures and improving physiques. 243

All-Heaven Array

The Twelve Ancestral Witches can unite their power through the All-Heaven Array to call forth a phantom of Pangu. 109

  • Requires the combined power and unity of all Twelve Ancestral Witches.
  • The Pangu phantom threatens Di Jun and Tai Yi during the Witch–Yao conflict. 109
  • Hongjun ultimately destroys the phantom and forces both races into a ten-thousand-year truce. 109

Faith Power

Faith becomes a central source of the clan’s later strength and expansion. 149 226

  • The Main Body grants Faith Power directly to followers, triggering widespread breakthroughs. 149
  • Priests may use faith to summon divine power and fight above their normal level. 149
  • The resurrection of the Ancestral Witches is reinforced through a River of Faith. 187
  • Combined faith can manifest the power of Witch civilization in war. 271

Blood Pool Resurrection

The Blood Pool preserves and reconstructs Witch Clan members through blood, spiritual runes, and the Main Body’s intervention. 106 120

  • Fallen Witchmen leave silver talisman-like remnants that enter the battlefield formation and blood-colored crystal palace. 106
  • Billions who died in the first Witch–Yao War are resurrected in the Witch God Plane. 120
  • Resurrected Witchmen are cleansed of innate Sha Qi and are no longer restricted by the Primordial World’s will. 120
  • The Twelve Ancestral Witches receive exceptional treatment: cleansed essence blood, restored Spiritual Power, the Main Body’s own blood, and Faith Power. 187

First Witch–Yao War

Long-standing conflict over slaughter, essence-blood collection, territory, and power escalates into open war. The Twelve Ancestral Witches summon Pangu’s phantom through the All-Heaven Array, but Hongjun destroys it and imposes a ten-thousand-year truce. 109

Mutual Destruction and Resurrection

During the final Witch–Yao War, the Witch Clan resorts to mass self-destruction, annihilating itself alongside almost the entire Yao Race and devastating Hong Huang. 135

Conflict with the Heavenly Court

Haotian underestimates the surviving clan and sends envoys without respect. Xing Tian’s retaliation sparks open conflict, while Hou Yi and other Great Witches demonstrate enough strength to resist Haotian’s mid-stage Quasi-Saint power. 157 159

Witch God Sect Era

After migration to the Vast Kingdom and later the Underworld Continent, the clan’s forces form the backbone of the Witch God Sect’s Witch God Lineage. The sect conquers the Eastern District, relocates to the central region, and extends control over much of the Underworld Continent. 344 369 400

Trivia

  • Li Yi’s Pangu bloodline is stated to be purer than that of the Witch Clan after he devours refined essence blood from Pangu’s arm. 11
  • The clan’s original inability to cultivate the Immortal Dao comes from its souls being fused into its bodies rather than existing in an ordinary form. 46
  • During the first Witch–Yao War, the Yao Race has roughly three times the Witch Clan’s numbers, while the Witch Clan holds the advantage in individual strength. 106
  • The Witch Clan’s Day of Divine Descent is held every fifty thousand years, when Witchmen return to hear Li Yi’s teachings. 235
