Background / History

Nuwa creates the Human Race from clay, soil, and divine water, granting them life and intelligence. Their creation brings Nuwa immense Golden Light of Merit, enabling her to attain Sagehood; before departing for the chaos, she leaves the new race basic cultivation methods. 116

Li Yi judges the newly created race's fortune to be mediocre compared with the Witch and Yao Tribes, believing any future greatness must be earned through bloody struggle rather than granted at birth. He secretly arranges for Candle Dragon to relocate them to the East Sea coast under Dragon Clan protection and transmits a cultivation technique through Candle Dragon. 117

Within five hundred years, the population rises from tens of millions to nearly ten billion. The race endures hunting dangers, illness, inadequate shelter, and natural disasters, but develops quickly through these hardships. 120

The Yao Race later discovers that human souls can repair soul damage and targets humanity before its war with the Witch Clan. A Human Race tribe is massacred until Li Yi intervenes after roughly half the race has fallen, annihilating the attacking Yao forces with an ancient sword. 126 127

Under Fu Xi, Shennong, and Xuanyuan, the Human Race expands dramatically and establishes the Three Sovereigns as its first Holy Emperors. Their rise brings the race into direct political and spiritual conflict with the Heavenly Court and the Saints. 152 153 163

After the Three Sovereigns retire to Huoyun Cave, the Human Race enters an era of mortal rule under successive co-rulers and later dynasties.
