While fleeing Aosidela City with the Shrek Seven Devils, Tang San encounters his grievously wounded father, Tang Hao. Yu Xiaogang reveals that Tang Hao is the Clear Sky Douluo, overturning Tang San's belief that his father had merely been an ordinary blacksmith. Tang San resolves to uncover why Tang Hao hid his identity and became Spirit Hall's enemy. 46

Tang San is fiercely competitive and protective of those he values. His attempt to avenge Xiao Wu and his initial determination to perform well before Luo Li show a desire to prove himself through action. 33 36
