She was originally called Emily and did not carry Zhang Han's surname. Zhang Han renames her Zhang Yumeng, with “Mengmeng” as her nickname. Though hesitant at first, she accepts the name and later insists that she is not called Emily. 3 4 7 10
Before meeting Zhang Han, Mengmeng had never seen or spoken to her father. Their early days together—shopping, traveling to Hong Kong, and visiting Disneyland—rapidly make her deeply attached to him. 4 6 8 9 28
Zhang Han builds and cultivates New Moon Mountain as the “paradise” he promised her, filling it with crops, animals, and places to play. Mengmeng later moves with him into Mengmeng's Leisure Restaurant, a restaurant named in her honor. 10 24 29 36
Appearance
Mengmeng is a small, fairy-tale-like child with a delicate face, large clear eyes, long eyelashes, and fair, tender skin. Her features largely resemble Ziyan's, while her rounder earlobes and eyebrows resemble Zhang Han's. She weighs about thirty pounds. 9 10 21 40

Zhang Han's unconventional “Zhang's Education” gradually makes her more willing to speak up, as seen when she confidently cheers during Disneyland's Flights of Fantasy Parade and defends her father from criticism. 4 9 10
She is intensely affectionate toward both parents and happiest when they are together. She becomes distressed when Zhang Han leaves, often asking him to stay, while also showing warm maternal attachment to Ziyan. 10 17 26 31
