Pairo was physically frail as a child after saving Kurapika, which led him to focus on reading and study rather than athletics. This upbringing developed his intelligence and composure, though it also left him vulnerable during the Kurta Clan massacre. 262

He survived the Phantom Troupe’s assault on the Kurta Clan settlement after witnessing his mother’s death and Mito’s final farewell. Mito remained behind to delay the pursuers, allowing Kevin to flee with Pairo. 70 72 262

Personality

Pairo is observant, analytical, and unusually composed for his age. Kevin considers him the most rational of the Kurta survivors: despite carrying the deepest personal hatred for the Phantom Troupe, Pairo consciously buries that hatred and focuses on the steps needed to achieve revenge. 111

His calmness does not erase his resentment. Having directly witnessed the destruction of his clan and his parents’ deaths, Pairo can become ruthless and extreme when confronting the Phantom Troupe or those who possess Kurta eyes.
