A Leaf Obscures the Mountain
Constantine had no idea what had just severed the Portal's power. Seeing the Guardian's somewhat bewildered expression, he decisively contacted Robet, because he knew that the eerie blue energy was definitely not something simple!
"Hmm? Trouble? Mephisto has appeared?" Upon receiving Constantine's message, Robet raised an eyebrow, a hint of anticipation flashing in his eyes. Even knowing that Mephisto's strength might be formidable, Robet showed no fear. Only immense pressure could accelerate Robet's progress; if Earth were truly calm, Robet's strength would actually increase at a slower pace.
"It wasn't Mephisto, it was Clary's family that had an accident. I used Tracking Magic to locate Jocelyn, and the Guardian opened Portal, but the Portal was blocked by a kind of eerie blue energy!" Constantine's voice was serious. The power of Portal naturally has its limits, but the ability to block Portal is definitely not simple!
"You can block the Portal? I understand. I'll contact you in a bit, and you can use the Portal to take me there..." Robet understood Constantine's meaning. This NPC had finally started issuing quests, but it seemed that this quest was triggered by Clary and had little to do with Constantine...
Thinking about this, Robet harbored some doubts about Constantine. After all, the previous quest was triggered by Clary, and Constantine was merely a guide. Could Clary be the real quest NPC?
However, Robet didn't think too much about it at the moment. Since a mysterious powerhouse had appeared, he might as well go and take a look. The power to sever the Portal couldn't be weak!
"Kara, take a rest. Tell Peter Parker and the others to stop fighting. I have to go out for a bit. I don't want them to get hurt right now!" Robet quickly came to his senses and said softly to Kara.
"What happened?" Kara asked Robet hesitantly.
"Constantine said the Portal was blocked by someone, probably a powerful figure. I'm going to check it out..." Robet explained briefly to avoid Kara suspecting he was going to see Diana.
"Sever the Portal? Then be careful. Remember to contact Clark if anything happens; he's not on the Savage Island right now..." Kara nodded, looking at Robet with concern as she reminded him.
"Don't worry, I'll be careful." Robet smiled at Kara, then disappeared from the spot.
"Come pick me up, I'm here..." Soon, Robet contacted Constantine and the Guardian, and at the same time changed his appearance, transforming back into Son Goku.
Previously, due to Tony Stark, Robet was forced to give up transforming into Son Goku. However, a long time has passed since that bounty was placed, and since the bounty has long been revoked, Robet can now revert to using the Son Goku persona.
Of course, the main reason was that the Kryptonian Battle Suit were already finished. Robet felt that Vegeta's appearance looked rather strange in the Turtle School style Martial arts uniform; this color scheme was more suitable for the Son family...
"Hmm? Why have you changed your appearance again?" Robet appeared quickly in the Magic Base. Constantine was taken aback upon seeing Robet, then noticed Robet's clothes and muttered, "The clothes look a bit strange..."
"Is this your true self?" Clary asked Robet hesitantly.
"No, so what happened? Your mother was arrested again?" Robet shook his head, looking at Clary strangely as he asked her in return.
Robet was starting to suspect that Clary was the real NPC issuing the quest. Otherwise, even if Jocelyn was a superhuman, she shouldn't have been captured again like this. It hadn't been that long; did Jocelyn think she was some kind of vengeful spirit?
"It might be Nick Fury, the one I called last time. Of course, I only suspect it. He just called me, but I didn't answer..." Clary's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she spoke hesitantly in a low voice.
"Nick Fury? It's him again?" A hint of surprise flashed in Robet's eyes. Then he thought of Carol's situation. Robet was a little skeptical that Nick Fury could be so powerful as to sever the Portal. If Nick Fury really had that kind of strength, Carol should have spoken up.
"Why don't you call and try?" Although she had some doubts, Robet didn't object because it was a clue given by the NPC Clary. Instead, she looked at Clary and encouraged her.
"Okay." Clary looked at Robet, took a deep breath, and dialed Nick Fury's number.
Rewind a little, to one of Nick Fury's secret bases, as he looks at his unconscious sister Jocelyn, even Nick Fury, with his composure, has a fleeting look of bewilderment in his eyes.
If Melinda had orchestrated this operation alone, Nick Fury thought it was possible for Jocelyn to collapse and return. However, the problem is that this operation was led by Nick Fury's trusted lieutenant, Coulson, with the composed Hawkeye Barton also present. How did it turn out this way?
It's important to understand that Nick Fury didn't intend to capture Jocelyn; he planned to use Jocelyn to make contact with other extraordinary individuals, thereby expanding his own team!
Now that Jocelyn has been brought back unconscious, how is Nick Fury supposed to spend a fortune on horse bones? He'd be better off spending a fortune on horse manure!
"What's going on?" Nick Fury asked, his face ashen, but to Coulson and the others, only Nick Fury's eyes changed; his face remained as dark as ever.
"It was my fault." Melinda decisively stepped forward and admitted her mistake. "Coulson was making good progress, and we were almost able to bring Jocelyn back, but suddenly a Werewolf appeared..."
"Werewolf? Where is he?" Nick Fury's eyes lit up. He was just worried about not having anyone to rely on, and now that Werewolf had appeared, wasn't that like a godsend?
"We chased them away, and they were seriously injured. We were afraid of delaying the mission, so we didn't pursue them..." Coulson said on Melinda's behalf.
"You chased him away? Seriously injured? Werewolf?" Nick Fury glanced at his three men. Coulson showed no signs of having laid a hand on him. Hawkeye Barton's clothes were torn, as if he had sustained some injury. Melinda's arm was moving uncontrollably, seemingly uncomfortable. But such minor injuries were enough to take down Werewolf? Too easy, right?
Werewolf are a well-known dark creature in the Western world, on par with Vampire. Nick Fury may not know much about them, but he is aware of their existence, and even that the ancestors of these two creatures in mythology may be traced back to Cain and Abel.
Even though Nick Fury didn't believe in gods, he knew this was likely a manifestation of the long history of two dark creatures; it just seemed that the Werewolf ' strength was rather ordinary...
"That Werewolf is quite powerful, at least stronger than Super Soldier, both in strength and speed..." Melinda saw through Nick Fury's implication and explained softly, "But that Werewolf's sense of danger isn't very strong. After being hit by an arrow from Barton, he was seriously injured, and then I shot him. His defenses aren't bulletproof."
"That's not bad!" Nick Fury's eyes lit up upon hearing this, and he quickly ordered, "You guys go and find people to search for Werewolf, and collect Werewolf blood. Although there are relatively few rumors about Werewolf turning into Werewolf, what if their blood really does contain some special abilities?"
"Yes! I'll find someone to do it right away!" Coulson quickly replied.
"How long until she wakes up?" Nick Fury asked, turning his gaze back to the unconscious Jocelyn.
Nick Fury invited Jocelyn over as a guest and also to build a relationship, so he couldn't just wake Jocelyn up using harsh methods. There was already a misunderstanding; if he treated Jocelyn like a criminal, then there was no way things would end well...
"It will probably take a little more time. She attacked Barton when he was dealing with Barton Werewolf, and it looked quite scary, so I increased the power output a bit..." Coulson said to Nick Fury somewhat embarrassedly.
"Alright, let's contact her daughter first. Anyway, according to her, Clary has also awakened a similar ability to her..." Nick Fury waved his hand, abandoning his plan to wake Jocelyn up on the spot, and turned to contact Clary. Little did Nick Fury know that the energy protection device extracted from the Tesseract in this base directly blocked the Guardian's Portal.
Nick Fury's call went unanswered, but before Nick Fury could come up with any other plans, the phone rang again. It was Clary, encouraged by Robet, calling Nick Fury.
"Clary, it's been so long! Have you missed your uncle?" Nick Fury said with a smile and gentle tone as he answered the phone, as if he really knew Clary very well.
"Is there something you need?" Clary didn't ask directly about Jocelyn, but asked with a hint of hesitation in her voice.
"I heard from your mother that you have also awakened your abilities and entered the supernatural world. I'm a little worried about your situation. After all, the dangers of the supernatural world may be more serious than you imagine..." Nick Fury said with some emotion.
"Thank you for your concern, I will be careful..." Clary said calmly, her expression unchanged, her voice carrying a hint of coldness.
"We're all family, it's only right that I, as your uncle, care about you. It just so happens that your mother is visiting me, why don't you come over too? I happen to have a good job here, so you don't have to live in constant fear in the supernatural world every day..." Nick Fury said kindly.
"..." A flash of anger crossed Clary's eyes, but her voice remained unchanged. "Is Mom here too? Give me an address, I'll come over now?"
"Shall I send someone to pick you up?" Nick Fury looked at Coulson beside him and said with a smile, "Where are you?"
"No need, I still have some things to take care of. I'll come find you after I'm done. Where are you?" Clary showed no intention of revealing her address and asked again.
"..." Nick Fury paused for a moment, glanced at Jocelyn, then at the base, and said with a smile, "Okay, I'm at @&#, you can come find me when you're done!"
"Okay, see you later!" Clary's eyes lit up, and she quickly hung up the phone.
"He's your uncle, your mother's brother. He was looking for your mother, so why did he kidnap her and even injure Luke?" After Clary hung up the phone, Robet expressed his incomprehension of Nick Fury's behavior, unaware that the outcome was due to his mission habits and an accident. Robet felt that Nick Fury's actions at this moment were just as problematic as planting a listening device in Carol's phone.
One is a family member, the other a close friend; couldn't they have been a little kinder? Where is the most basic trust between people?
"Our family isn't very close to Nick Fury. From what he said, it seems he wants us to do something for him, which is why he contacted us..." Clary slowly shook her head, her pretty face serious as she spoke. Then she looked at the Guardian beside her and continued, "He's already given us the address, it's at @&#. Can we use the Portal to get there?"
"I'll try again..." The Guardian nodded and cast the Portal once more. This time, Robet saw it clearly: as soon as the Portal appeared, a dark blue energy immediately severed Portal power. It wasn't that the Portal malfunctioned, but rather that there was indeed a powerful force at Nick Fury's location!
"Interesting! Such powerful, such pure energy!" Robet's eyes lit up slightly. He hadn't believed Nick Fury was the kidnapper of Jocelyn, because Robet had indeed looked down on Nick Fury's strength. But now it seemed that Nick Fury was hiding a powerful force!
"There's no way to get there..." the Guardian said hesitantly, looking at Clary.
"There's no way to go directly there. Can't you open the Portal nearby? If the area is blocked, just open the Portal further away, right?" Robet shrugged after regaining his senses. As the saying goes, "A leaf can block the view of Mount Tai." The Guardian were thinking that the Portal was blocked by the azure energy and could not be used, because they had never encountered such a situation before.
However, the Guardian forgot that Portal can be opened anywhere. Since Nick Fury's location was blocked, why not just open Portal a short distance away and walk there?
"That's right!" The Guardian suddenly realized, and a Portal reappeared in front of everyone, but this time the dark blue energy did not reappear.
