Play and Awakening
"What is this? Werewolf?! Vampire?!" Under the cover of darkness and with the help of the moonlight, the man could barely make out the appearance of the Werewolf and the Vampire. His pupils shrank sharply. If it were any other supernatural creature, the man might have had a hard time recognizing it, but Werewolf and Vampire were so famous in Western society that it would be difficult not to recognize them.
However, it was precisely because he recognized the Werewolf and the Vampire that the man's heart sank. After all, for the man and his family, this was just a conflict between gangs, and he had already basically resolved the crisis here.
With only one gang member left, the man didn't think he would lose in a one-on-one fight, even though his pistol was out of bullets. He wasn't the only one who was nervous; the gang member was just as nervous. This was his chance!
However, before he could even deal with the gang members, he got caught up in a supernatural event. Even if his pistol was out of bullets, or even if it were full of bullets, or even if he replaced it with a submachine gun or rifle, he wasn't sure he could be a match for Vampire and Werewolf!
After Earth experienced several extraordinary events, and after the Avengers had thoroughly made a name for themselves and been accepted by the world, everyone understood that extraordinary powers do indeed exist in the world, and that such powers are not something ordinary people can contend with...
"No! I absolutely cannot give up like this. Little Frank absolutely cannot be harmed! These two legendary rivals seem to be at odds right now. I must seize this opportunity, at least to attract the attention of these two monsters and let Little Frank escape from here!" After a brief moment of shock, the man quickly adjusted his mindset and made a decision.
"What? Are you still trying to hide? Or do you think you can escape right under our noses?" Just as the man was about to take action, the Werewolf coldly glanced in the direction of the gang members, expressing his dissatisfaction that they hadn't stepped forward to give an explanation.
In fact, it wasn't just the Werewolf who was somewhat dissatisfied; even the Vampire looked coldly in the direction of the gang member. The Vampire seemed to feel that this gang member had exposed his identity while pledging allegiance to him, which had forced him and the Werewolf to meet prematurely, and now he even wanted to escape. This was undoubtedly a betrayal to him as well!
When the Vampire's gaze fell upon the gang member, the gang member still harbored a sliver of hope. He didn't step forward because he knew that if he did, he would be doomed.
With a "whoosh!" sound, at that moment, a black and red energy was released directly from the Vampire's body, transforming into countless Little Bat that swarmed into the darkness and grabbed the gang members on the spot.
"No! Don't kill me!" The gang member instantly lost control of his body, floating in mid-air, panicking and shouting repeatedly, but he couldn't break free from the Little Bat around him.
"Hmph! My people, when did it become your place to judge them?" When the Werewolf saw this scene, a glint flashed in his eyes, but it quickly turned into anger. He slashed his claws towards the Little Bat, and a black claw mark appeared in mid-air, instantly blasting the Little Bat to pieces and causing the gang member to fall to the ground.
"Your man? He's been my man ever since he started working for me!" The Vampire squinted at the Werewolf, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes, but he didn't attack immediately. Instead, he glanced at the man lying on the ground and said in a deep voice.
"Then let him tell us whose side he's on!" The Werewolf swung its paw at the gang member who was lying on the ground struggling to get up. A wolf-like afterimage pounced on the gang member and began to tear at his body.
With a "buzz!" sound, at the same time, countless Little Bat once again flew out from the Vampire's body, swarming towards the gang member and tearing at his body as well.
"Aaaaaaah!!!"
The pitiful screams echoed in the night, proving what kind of fate awaited the traitor. In just a short time, the gang member's body began to turn into a bloody mess, but strangely, even with such injuries, the gang member did not die.
"Ugh~" Just as the gang members were being torn to pieces, Little Frank, Little Frank was hiding in the tree, was still disgusted by what he saw, even though he was trying to hold back and the light was dim. The shock of what was happening was too great for him and had exceeded what a child could bear. He vomited.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
The instant Little Frank vomited, two gunshots rang out in the darkness. Two deadly bullets struck the Vampire and Werewolf's heads. The man didn't know if the bullets would pose a threat to the two supernatural beings, but a headshot was the limit of what he could do. Who knew if the heart was a vital organ for these creatures?
Facing the oncoming bullets, neither the Vampire nor the Werewolf showed any change in expression. Their bodies seemed to move, yet also seemed not to move at all. In any case, the bullets ultimately failed to hit them. The man's confident marksmanship failed to achieve his goal, and the Vampire and Werewolf remained unharmed in place.
"I gave you half a day, and you finally managed to pick up two guns. So, your guns were out of bullets before, right?" The Vampire looked in the man's direction, a slight smile playing on his lips, and said softly, "You and your son are still somewhat valuable here, since you're outsiders. So, you tell me, whose scheme do you think this guy is..."
"If you can satisfy me, I can grant you immense power, even the hope of immortality. But if you cannot satisfy me, your fate will be far worse than his!"
"Oh, right, there are two women who are related to you by blood outside the woods. Perhaps I can bring them over with you, so that your family can all be together, wouldn't that be nice?"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Just as the Vampire finished speaking, gunshots rang out again. This time, however, the bullets were not aimed at the Werewolf, but at the Vampire. Several bullets blocked all possible dodge routes for the Vampire. The man had not seen how the Vampire dodged before, but at least the Vampire did not want to be hit by the bullets, which was the only opportunity and weakness he had found!
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
But what happened next filled the man with despair, because none of the bullets hit the Vampire, and he still couldn't see how the Vampire dodged...
There exists a vast gap between the supernatural world and the real world. This gap isn't just about strength, but more importantly, it's about understanding. Vampire easily know the methods and techniques of firearms, but the man has no idea what the Vampire truly possess. He can't possibly believe everything he reads in movies and novels, can he?
Besides, there's no way the man could find silver bullets, crosses, garlic, or any weapons that work against Vampire outside of ultraviolet light in this park!
"You're really not a likable person. How can you get the right answer by constantly threatening others? Or do you already know that he's my subordinate, so you can only get the answer you want by threatening him?" The Werewolf beside him looked at the bullets hitting the trees behind them and couldn't help but sneer, then looked at the man and said softly.
"Come on, I'm much more reasonable than this bat. Just say what you want, and as long as you satisfy me, I won't let this bat do anything to you..."
"Could their conflict be my opportunity?" The man stared at the Vampire and Werewolf in silence, unsure of his choice. In almost every film and television work, Werewolf and Vampire are sworn enemies, and these two had indeed appeared on the verge of conflict. This might be the only chance the man could find to turn the tables.
But the problem was, how could he escalate the conflict between the Vampire and the Werewolf to create an opportunity for himself? The man still had no clue where to begin...
"These two are playing with them!" However, Kara and Robet, who were watching this scene unfold, noticed something unusual about the Werewolf and the Vampire. Kara frowned slightly and asked, somewhat puzzled by the Werewolf and the Vampire's behavior since their appearance.
"These two don't seem like sworn enemies..." Robet in agreement. "They seem more like they're teaming up to toy with them, just for their own amusement. And when the Vampire used bats to pull that gang member back, that Werewolf even seemed to be laughing?"
"So, what are they after?" Kara was even more puzzled after hearing Robet's words. She didn't understand why the Vampire and Werewolf would come all this way just to mess with Little Frank and his father? Or were they just messing with that gang member?
With a "whoosh!", just as Kara was puzzled, the Vampire on the other side seemed to get angry, and a terrifying power erupted from his body, which made the man next to him's eyes light up. He thought that the Werewolf's words had angered the Vampire, and he even thought that he had seen an opportunity to break the deadlock.
Soon, a large swarm of bats flew out from the Vampire's body, but instead of attacking the man and Little Frank, or the Werewolf, they swarmed towards the edge of the forest.
"No!!!" In an instant, the man realized what the Vampire was about to do: he was going to keep his word and capture the man's wife and daughter!
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Gunshots rang out. The man dared not hold back in the slightest; bullets poured from his pistol, accurately hitting one bat after another. However, the problem was that the number of bullets was limited, a drop in the ocean compared to the bats released by the Vampire...
"Whoosh!" When the man finished firing his bullets but hadn't completely killed the Little Bat, the Werewolf seemed to have just come to his senses. He quickly swung his claws, killing some of the Little Bat, but one could still see bat after another flying out of the forest.
When he saw the Werewolf make its move, the man, who had been filled with despair after running out of bullets, finally felt a glimmer of hope. However, when he saw that the Werewolf had failed to eliminate all the Little Bat, he was plunged into despair once again.
The man couldn't care less about anything else and ran straight towards the woman. He wanted to be there for his wife and daughter before the bats reached them, at least not just watch them get hurt. The gangster was still lying on the ground, bloodied and barely clinging to life, and the man couldn't bear to see his wife and daughter end up like that.
In fact, it wasn't just the man who ran towards his wife and daughter; even realizing what had happened, Little Frank, despite his terror and trembling legs, insisted on staggering towards his family.
At this moment, Frank and his son seemed to have forgotten that running with their backs to the Vampire and Werewolf was a dangerous situation, especially since the Vampire and Werewolf were staring at them with the same eyes they had for prey.
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry, I couldn't stop all these disgusting Little Bat, but don't worry, I've released my wolf cubs. They'll fight the Little Bat for their prey... ah, no, I mean, they'll save your families!" Just then, the Werewolf's lips curled into a slight smile as he waved at the backs of Frank and his son. One by one, wild wolves rushed out and chased after Frank and his son, whether to pursue Frank or to deal with their family was unclear.
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
Hearing the approaching footsteps behind them, the hairs on the backs of Frank and his son stood on end, especially on the Little Frank. Frank was already a little weak in the legs and not very fast at running, and now he could barely keep up.
In his daze, Little Frank could even hear the wolf cubs panting, but Little Frank didn't cry out. Even though he knew death was imminent, he didn't want to hinder his father running ahead. Maybe his father could really save his mother and sister before the swarm of bats flew by?
If that's really the case, then it seems worthwhile for him, who couldn't run fast enough, to slow down the wolf pack a bit, especially since tonight's events were a tragedy caused by his curiosity...
"Not bad, kid." Just as Little Frank felt wolf claws tearing at his clothes from behind, a voice of praise rang in his ears.
