Background
Zhou Chongshan's original tribe was raided by Evil Wolf's forces, an experience that left him vulnerable to Evil Wolf's provocations during their later confrontation. His anger disrupted his performance and allowed the faster Evil Wolf to suppress him despite their otherwise comparable fighting ability. 58 62
He became one of Zhou Xu's earliest and most trusted subordinates. Even in the tribe's early days, Zhou Xu regarded him as his most promising general and the only fierce general capable of independently carrying Great Zhou's military strength. 58
As Great Zhou developed rapidly and warfare became less frequent, Zhou Chongshan struggled with anxiety and insecurity. As a general whose value had initially been defined by combat, he found it difficult to feel useful when he had no battles to fight. Zhou Xu recognized the problem, rewarded his service, and arranged for Wang Dong to supervise his rehabilitation, literacy education, and rest. 273 280 281
Over time, he grew beyond this instability. By the later period, he no longer measured himself against others' advancement; he remained on the front lines because Great Zhou still needed him, while accepting that he would retire once his service was no longer required. 2033
Personality
Zhou Chongshan is serious, dutiful, and intensely demanding of himself. He initially treated rest as wasted time, even attempting to continue training after injuring his dominant hand. 232 His drive made him prone to overexertion, but also enabled repeated breakthroughs under extreme pressure.
He is straightforward and loyal to Zhou Xu. When entrusted with Wang Dong's protection, he accepted the responsibility immediately after Zhou Xu explained its importance, even though he had initially wanted reassignment. 280 He also showed generosity by dividing a reward from Zhou Xu among Ye Jinghong and Li Ce. 340
In combat, he is notably calm and analytical. Rather than competing directly against stronger opponents, he studies their habits, identifies weaknesses, and changes weapons or tactics accordingly. 462 2038 His composure can give way to fierce determination when his troops or key terrain are threatened. 1068 1073

- Eredar — Dark Elf commander whom Zhou Chongshan trained and sparred against; Zhou Chongshan repeatedly defeated him through unfamiliar weapons and technical precision. 2035 2038
Story Role / Major Arcs
Early Tribal Battles
Zhou Chongshan helped reverse the battle at Salt Lake Camp by charging into the Black Forest with Zhou Xu. Armed with a stone axe, he cut through enemy tribesmen with enough force to terrify the opposing force. 56
His clash with Evil Wolf exposed an early weakness: personal trauma and provocation could shatter his composure. Evil Wolf's Speed Enhancement allowed him to suppress Zhou Chongshan until Zhou Xu's Skeleton Soldiers changed the battle. 58 76
Red Stone Tribe and Early Great Zhou Expansion
Zhou Chongshan volunteered to duel the Red Stone Chief, adapting after his sabre was chipped and ultimately defeating the opposing leader. The chief's defeat caused the tribe to surrender. 239 240
He later sustained a serious wrist injury after forcing his preferred weapon style into cavalry combat. Zhou Xu used the incident to teach him to adapt his weapon choice to the situation rather than relying on a single method. 211
Assault Camp Commander
During the conquest of Green Forest City, Zhou Chongshan killed General Long Xiaotian within ten moves, then led three hundred Vanguard Iron Cavalry into the breached city. 718 He subsequently led the Assault Camp as heavily armored infantry, secured the surrender of the defenders, and reassured the city's common people of Great Zhou's protection. 719
He later became central to Great Zhou's elite military doctrine, developing weapons, formations, and training methods for the Assault Camp. 1149 1150
Battle Against the Demon
As a Hundred Refinements Realm Martial Artist, Zhou Chongshan chose to face a Demon alone. He discarded his armor and warhorse for mobility, used dual sabres and his returning round shield to sever its tentacles, and ultimately split its main body into four pieces. 993 994
The battle pushed him through the Bronze Two-Star bottleneck, which he broke by circulating True Word power through the Body Forging Fist. 995
Grassland Pass Defense
Zhou Chongshan held the grassland pass against Green Skin forces, recognizing that losing the pass would turn a natural defensive barrier into an enemy stronghold. 1068 He led the Assault Camp's spear formation to repel Goblin Wolf Cavalry, then fought Ogres whose regeneration and abnormal defenses forced Great Zhou's generals to reassess the threat. 1063 1065
After suffering heavy Assault Camp casualties, he blamed himself and sought punishment. Zhou Xu instead accepted responsibility for the delayed reinforcements and comforted him. 1073
Vajra Realm Breakthrough and Later Service
Zhou Chongshan reached the Vajra Realm before his spar with Xie Liancheng, where his True Qi shield and superior weapon transitions allowed him to overwhelm a peak Hundred Refinements Realm opponent. 1253 1254
In later campaigns, he and Xie Liancheng served as Great Zhou's Vajra Realm vanguard, actively seeking out enemy powerhouses while leading the Assault Camp. 1331 1361 He continued refining both his own weapon mastery and the training of allied troops, including Dark Elf soldiers. 2035 2038
