Background / History

The Primordial World originated when Pangu transformed into heaven and earth. Its landscape includes the remains of Pangu and countless Chaos Demon Gods; Buzhou Mountain was formed from Pangu's spine and originally supported the heavens while connecting to the Netherworld 1 260.

At creation, clear energy rose to form the realm of immortals and spirits, while turbid energy sank to form the Netherworld. The poisonous turbid energy became the foundation for the Witch Clan, the only race able to absorb it safely under Pangu's protection 1.

The world's history is divided into five broad periods: the Primordial Era, Ancient Era, Middle Ages, Near Ancient Era, and Dharma Ending Era. The first three are associated respectively with the Ferocious Beast Calamity, Dragon-Phoenix Calamity, and Witch-Demon Calamity 2.

Repeated calamities reshaped its dominant powers. The Ferocious Beast Clan once controlled much of the world before declining; the Dragon, Phoenix, and Kirin Clans dominated the following era, while the Witch Clan and Demon Race rose in the third 78 100. No single race can securely rule the Primordial World for long, as its ancient factions, Karma, Heavenly Dao, and repeated calamities undermine lasting hegemony 1 108.

Geography and Structure

Core Lands

• Buzhou Mountain — The first divine mountain of creation, formed from Pangu's spine. It originally supported the Three Heavens and linked to the Netherworld 1.
• Netherworld — A realm formed from condensed primordial turbid energy. The Pangu Divine Hall drifts in its depths 1.
• Pangu Divine Hall — An Innate Supreme Treasure formed from Pangu's heart and the ancestral hall that sheltered the forming Witch Clan 1.
• Origin Land — A water-blue planet formed from Buzhou Mountain's core. It bears the aura of Origin, can carry the myths of the Primordial World, and functions as a contingency through which the world may return even after annihilation 259 260.
• Outer Heaven Battlefield — A Great Thousand World jointly opened and reinforced by the Primordial World's Sages and Hunyuan. Its cities serve the major races during wars against external worlds 193 195.

Three Realms

Following the Investiture of the Gods, the world was redivided into the Heaven Realm, Earthly Immortal Realm, and Human World 189.

• The Earthly Immortal Realm is governed by the Heavenly Dao and retained a stronger foundation than the Human World 252.
• The Human World consists of countless planets formed from fragments of the Primordial World. It is administered by the Heavenly Court rather than directly by the Heavenly Dao 252.
• The Human World’s spiritual energy declined after the Three Realms' redivision, ushering in a Dharma Ending Era 189 196.

Heavenly Dao, Karma, and Cultivation

The Heavenly Dao recognizes major declarations, grants Merit, and reacts to the fortunes of races and dynasties. Shen Ni's establishment of the Fierce Beast Divine Dynasty and the Three Innate Races' proclamations were all answered by the Heavenly Dao 8.

Karma is a decisive force in the world's political and cultivation order. The Ferocious Beast Clan's indiscriminate slaughter accumulated Karma that contributed to its downfall, while races and Sages constantly weigh the consequences of actions that may damage the world's foundations 6 86 189.

The world supports numerous cultivation systems rather than a single path:

World Evolution

Long Zang concluded that the Primordial World cannot advance beyond its original status by ordinary internal development. As a world born at the Supreme World level, it must obtain World Origin from external worlds to replenish and evolve 171.

• Greek Mythology World — Long Zang altered its trajectory toward the Outer Heaven Battlefield. After its defeat, Yuan Huang refined it into a mass of World Origin, which the Primordial World absorbed 171 223 226.
• Norse Mythology World — Its arrival drew numerous Primordial World beings to the Outer Heaven Battlefield in search of resources and opportunities 227 244.
• Western Fantasy Great World — This half-step Supreme World contained the Heaven Plane, Material Plane, and Abyss Plane. After its defeat, Long Zang separated its planes: the Heaven Plane became Little Phoenix Xi's Small World, while the Material and Abyss Planes became subsidiary planes of the Primordial World 263 307.
• World restoration — The merger of the Material and Abyss Planes revived the world's origin and restored Innate Spiritual Qi across the Great Desolation 307.
• Later reconstruction — Even World Origin alone could only restore the world to its prior state. Long Zang determined that the Origin Land required interaction with other worlds, with war serving as a catalyst for revival 346.

Origin Land

The Origin Land is the Primordial World's deepest contingency.

• It originated from the core of Buzhou Mountain and possesses an aura of Origin despite existing as a seemingly ordinary life-bearing planet 259 260.
• It can bear and reflect myths from the Primordial World and the All Heavens 259 315.
• Long Zang sealed its surrounding star domain so that no cultivator below Sage or Hunyuan level could locate it 252.
• Long Zang later left his imprint and established three major systems there in preparation for future calamities 315.
• Its Spiritual Energy Revival introduced Extraordinary Factors that allow inhabitants to undergo Ancestral Return and awaken mythic traits or abilities 351.
• After the Primordial World shattered, its origin was merged into the Origin Land, linking past and present 361.
