Background / History
Kuafu and Da Yi were conceived from Ancestral Witch essence blood within the Pangu Blood Pool. Their bloodline carries a faint trace of Pangu’s aura, but they are not directly born from Pangu’s essence blood—a distinction Hongjun initially fails to recognize 35.
Although the Ancestral Witches refrain from formally establishing a clan, Kuafu and Da Yi lead Great Witches and Lesser Witches across the Primordial World under the name Witch Ancestor Tribe. Their body-refinement cultivation requires substantial resources, making spiritual roots, spiritual fruits, and meat more valuable to them than newly emerging treasures 19 58.
The two leaders choose the Western Land for its limited competition and abundant Earthly Fiend Tainted Qi, released by the destruction of its spiritual veins. What corrodes other cultivators’ Primordial Spirits and treasures instead nourishes Witch bodies; regulating the damaged earth veins also offers an opportunity to accumulate merit 19.
Appearance
Kuafu has a rugged face, a powerful physique, and a colossal Great Witch True Body 228.
- True body: Forty-eight thousand zhang tall, with bronze skin, bulging muscles, and ancient Witch runes 87 228.
- Forehead: Bears a Witch pattern condensed from Pangu essence blood 228.
- Eyes: Crimson like burning charcoal in battle; become bloodshot when he witnesses the Golden Crows’ devastation 228 397.
- Clothing: Wears oil-polished Xuan Si beast hide edged with ancient fierce-beast fangs and dark-purple bloodstains 228.
- Aura: Earthly Fiend Tainted Qi coils around his body in vast black currents 87 228.
Personality
Kuafu is fiercely protective of his tribesmen and the dignity of Pangu’s lineage. During the Western Land conflict, he retreats to cover his siblings rather than from unwillingness to fight. When cornered, he is prepared to die if doing so will cost his enemies dearly 19. He openly curses Jie Yin for refining tribesmen into Guardian Vajras and later risks his foundation rather than surrender Pangu’s legacy 42 73.
His boldness is tempered by practical judgment. During the Star Fruit Tree battle, he recognizes that his temporary power can sustain only one decisive strike, abandons the tree, and scatters lesser fruits to disrupt pursuit 43. That restraint breaks down during the sun chase: anger drives him to expend all his strength and ignore his worsening burns and exhaustion 398.

- Directs seventy-one other Great Witches arranged according to the Earthly Fiend positions 190.
