Originally created by the Sage of Six Paths (Hagoromo Otsutsuki) to divide the immense chakra of the Ten-Tails and grant the fragments freedom, the Tailed Beasts ultimately became tools of war and strategic deterrents for the Great Ninja Nations 384. In the parallel spacetimes overseen by Natsu Yuu, Hashirama and Madara capture multiple Tailed Beasts 115 116.

To keep Konoha's involvement hidden while exerting political pressure on the other nations, Natsu Yuu and the Konoha leaders establish the "Beast Organization" (Beast) led by the Nine-Tails 119 120. The Tailed Beasts launch devastating attacks—such as assaulting Sunagakure to rescue Shukaku—forcing the ninja world into profound dread 123. Later in the timelines, various beasts are used as tactical assets, absorbed to revive the Ten-Tails, and utilized by figures like Nagato, Minato, and Isshiki to achieve Six Paths power 628 648 852.
