Background

Ma Xiaotao is a descendant of Ma Hongjun, one of the First Generation Shrek Seven Devils, and inherited the top-tier Beast Martial Soul known as the Evil Fire Phoenix. Yan Shaozhe took her as his sole disciple and raised her from childhood. 32

Her exceptional cultivation talent came with a severe inherited flaw: the stronger she became, the more her Evil Fire threatened her mind and self-control. Yan Shaozhe sought Mu En’s help when she reached Rank 37, hoping Lin Yi’s Extreme Light could purify the corruption within her flames. 32

Lin Yi determined that the so-called Evil Fire amplified desire and possessed a Spirit Attribute, naming it Desire Fire. His initial purification relieved the condition, while his later Soul Ring recommendations steadily refined Ma Xiaotao’s flame origin. 33 34 52 145
