Background / History

Kao came from a homeworld where he avenged a neighboring family and subsequently went into hiding. Before becoming a Space Marine, he lived well enough to remember his former life fondly; shortly before a woman close to him died, the Fierce Angels passed through his world and allowed him to see her once more. After his own augmentation, he would instinctively take his sister Carly to the lower decks to play hide-and-seek. 52 61

He became one of the Fierce Angels' surviving veterans and developed a strong attachment to the Chapter's traditional creed. Though Huron dismissed him as someone who had always fought for the Golden Throne, Kao stated that he had once proposed abandoning that cause in favor of fighting solely for the Chapter's creed. 26
