Background

Nan Liujing initially believed that his only blood relative was his uncle, Sun Kong. After Leng Yaozhu approached him at Xia Zheng Leng’s request, he learned that Xia Zheng Leng was his maternal grandmother and Qian Gu Qingfeng his maternal grandfather; the pair later became central protectors in his life. 28 43

In Ao Lai City, Nan Liujing recognized that Na’er’s appearance and Tang Wulin’s encounter with her were part of a dangerous arrangement. Despite being warned that intervention could make him a target, he froze the human traffickers with lightning-attributed Soul Power and took Na’er in as his younger sister. 11

His intervention also disrupted Gu Yue’s probing of Tang Wulin’s Golden Dragon King bloodline. Gu Yue subsequently regarded Nan Liujing as an unpredictable factor worth investigating. 12
