Afraid?
As Aila's words fell, Rhode narrowed his eyes. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly as he gave a disdainful smile, looking down at her with a lofty attitude that showed he did not take her seriously at all.
"Although you've improved a lot through your frenzied training these past few days, defeat me? Heh, even if I gave you one hand, you still couldn't do it!"
After several days of desperate training, relentlessly pushing herself to the limit, and recovering quickly with Senzu Beans, Aila had indeed raised her Aura to roughly the same level as Rhode's.
But only her Aura was roughly equal. A simple increase in strength could not all be translated into combat power.
Without time to settle and refine that newly gained strength, even a grandmaster would find it difficult to immediately wield it perfectly, let alone a novice like Aila, who had only truly learned how to train for a few days and whose strength had suddenly surged so dramatically.
"Stop talking big. We'll only know after we fight!"
Seeing Rhode act so arrogantly, Aila flew into a rage. She kicked off the ground and charged at him at once.
Whoosh!
Faced with Aila's attack, Rhode flashed and vanished from where he stood. When he reappeared, he was already outside the Gravity Chamber, on the grass beyond it.
Rhode turned his gaze toward Aila, who had followed closely behind him. "Now you can make your move."
"Here?"
Hearing Rhode's words, Aila looked at the numerous buildings around them and frowned. This was Dr. Brief's home, not a good place to fight.
Oh?
As Aila finished speaking, Rhode's eyes lit up when he saw her expression. He had not expected her to consider the surroundings. It seemed that, little by little, Aila had changed without even realizing it.
"If you're worried about damaging the buildings here, then there's no need to be!"
With a smile on his face, Rhode bluntly voiced what Aila was thinking. Seeing her expression turn cold as she was about to retort, he cut her off directly. Then he raised one finger and slowly said:
"One second! Aila, one second is all I need to defeat you!"
The moment those words came out, the anger in Aila's heart exploded. Her Aura burst forth, and in a breath, she was in front of Rhode, kicking toward his face as she shouted, "Rhode, you're far too arrogant!"
"Heh!"
Facing Aila's attack, Rhode merely chuckled softly. Unhurriedly, he raised a hand and blocked her leg. "To show you some respect, I'll be using my full strength from here on. Aila, are you ready?"
Rhode smiled, his voice calm and composed. For some reason, his demeanor gave Aila, who had believed her strength had greatly increased, an inexplicable feeling that something was wrong.
"Aila, I'm making my move!"
The voice came again, and panic suddenly seized Aila's heart.
But at that moment, she abruptly realized that Rhode had somehow disappeared right before her eyes!
Thud!
The next instant, Aila heard a dull impact. Then pain shot through her neck, and the scene before her blurred and vanished. She knew nothing after that.
Plop!
As her consciousness sank into darkness and she fell unconscious, Aila's collapsing body was caught by Rhode, who had appeared behind her.
At that moment, Rhode looked at the unconscious Aila with a strange expression and muttered, "Did I hit her a little too hard? She'll probably train even more desperately after she wakes up, won't she?"
When Aila had challenged him, Rhode had originally planned to go easy on her and let her barely fight him to a draw in the end. That way, it would help preserve her Self-Esteem.
However, once they left the Gravity Chamber and truly began fighting, all thoughts of holding back or letting Aila draw with him were thrown to the back of his mind. Subconsciously, the very idea of going easy simply did not exist for him.
During their previous battle in the uninhabited Wasteland, the reason Rhode had fought Aila for so long was mainly because he wanted to experience his drastically increased strength and verify the extent of Aila's improvement after recovering from a Near-death state.
If he had held back then, he would not have overwhelmed Aila during their beam clash.
It was only because Aila had a sudden flash of inspiration and detonated the Energy Blast in advance just before it struck her that she had escaped. Otherwise, she would have at least been seriously injured, and falling into a Near-death state again would have been highly likely.
"Aila's control over her Aura isn't precise enough, and the way she uses it is far too crude!"
Thinking back on Aila's methods of attack, Rhode shook his head helplessly.
At this moment, there was almost no difference in strength between Aila and Rhode. Their Power Levels were both above six thousand but below seven thousand.
However, Aila had never controlled her own strength as well as Rhode. After her strength surged, her control had only worsened. Yet rather than settle down and improve her control over it, she had impatiently rushed into the Gravity Chamber to continue increasing her strength.
As a result, her control over her power became even worse. Against Rhode, who possessed an extremely strong command over his own strength, the combat power she could bring out was obvious.
In fact, it was only because Aila had learned how to train and had studied methods of precisely controlling her own strength that, even with her control having worsened, she could still perform roughly as well as she had when fighting as a member of the Saiyans squad.
Otherwise, with her strength surging repeatedly in such a short period of time, Aila would have lost control long ago and been unable to fight at all.
"Forget it, so what if I hit her hard!
If I held back, Aila would definitely think I was insulting her. Now that I've taken her down in one second, she probably won't challenge me again anytime soon!"
In an instant, Rhode figured it out and immediately felt that taking Aila down in one second had been the correct choice.
Besides, having a clear goal to chase in life was a good thing!
With that thought, Rhode took Aila to the lounge, then went to find Dr. Brief and ask about the progress of the Dragon Radar.
Inside the laboratory, Dr. Brief's eyes widened when he heard Rhode ask about the Dragon Radar, and embarrassment flashed across his face.
After finishing the Gravity Chamber, all his attention had been focused on that Spaceship and the extraterrestrial scientific knowledge Rhode had brought back. As for the Dragon Radar? He had long forgotten about it.
That knowledge from the universe had greatly broadened his horizons and given him immense gains. Therefore, Dr. Brief felt rather embarrassed about forgetting the Dragon Radar and hurriedly assured Rhode:
"Don't worry, Rhode. For the next while, I'll focus specifically on researching the Dragon Radar and do my best to get it made as soon as possible!"
"Then I'll have to trouble you, Doctor."
Since the Dragon Radar was not ready yet, there was no point in being anxious. Rhode exchanged a few simple words with Dr. Brief before leaving.
Since the Dragon Balls could not be collected for the time being, he could only train. The Gravity Chamber had already been completed, so this was the perfect time to put it to use.
He went to the lounge to check on the unconscious Aila. Seeing that she was sleeping deeply, Rhode did not wake her. After all, only with proper rest could she devote herself to training more effectively.
Entering the Gravity Chamber, Rhode set the gravity multiplier to ten, exactly the gravity of Planet Vegeta. He wanted to adapt to the environment first.
Buzz~
The moment the Gravity Chamber activated, a heavy pressure surged over Rhode, making him feel a slight burden. However, after only a few minutes, he had completely adapted.
After all, this was Planet Vegeta's gravity. He could adapt to it even as an infant, so now it was naturally effortless.
After stretching his limbs and warming up, he began increasing the gravity multiplier.
