Clarify Things
After class in the afternoon, Regulus walked out of the classroom and stopped in the Corridor, glancing behind him.
Avery, Alex, Hermes followed, while Lina and Samuel, who were a little behind, stopped when they saw him stop there.
"Come with me," he glanced at Lina and Samuel, then added, "You two too."

After saying that, he turned and left.
Avery and the others followed, and no one asked any further questions.
Lina and Samuel exchanged a glance and followed, but kept a few steps behind, not getting too close.
Lina walked a little ahead, with Samuel half a step behind her to the right. This was a tacit understanding: Lina led the way, and Samuel followed behind.
The group of six left the Castle and headed towards the Black Lake.
There aren't many Slytherin students in their second year, and most of them are here now, walking together in a large, impressive procession.
When we reached the Black Lake, the wind was much stronger than it was near the Castle.
The lake was greyish, with fine ripples. A cold, damp wind swept across the water, feeling like knives on my face.
Hermes turned up the collar of his robe, making sure the neckline covered his neck.
Avery rubbed his hands together, muttered something about the weather, and then put his hands back in his pockets.
Alex tightened the scarf, pulled it up to cover his chin, and glanced around to make sure no one was there.
Lina stood a little distance away, her chin tucked into her scarf, while Samuel stood beside her, his hands in his pockets.
Regulus turned around, his back to the lake, and looked at them.
Avery was a little confused.
It's the dead of winter, so cold, why are you calling out?
He glanced at the sky; it wasn't snowing. He looked at the Black Lake; it wasn't frozen.
He glanced at Regulus's face; Regulus's expression was the same as usual, revealing nothing.
Alex glanced at Lina and Samuel standing behind him and roughly guessed what had happened.
The matter in Rababstan is not yet resolved. Regulus summoned them out, presumably to discuss the follow-up.
Hermes waited, his face expressionless.
Lina and Samuel looked at each other, but neither of them said anything.
Lina's eyes showed a hint of tension, but her expression also seemed to show relief.
Samuel lowered his head, his gaze fixed on his feet.
Regulus spoke first, his tone unchanged. "What's the status of the Rababstan matter?"
Alex took a step forward, and as the wind picked up, his voice rose a little. "Almost done. Snape's already finished, just waiting to arrest him."
Regulus looked at Samuel and Lina: "Who?"
Alex didn't say anything more, and looked over as well.
Avery and Hermes turned their gazes as well, and four pairs of eyes fell on them.
Lina stepped forward, raised her chin from under her scarf, and looked serious.
Her face was slightly red from the wind, but her eyes were bright, and she didn't hesitate.
"I."
Samuel stood behind her, head down, without saying a word.
Regulus glanced at them.
They saw this as an opportunity; whoever puts in more effort will reap more rewards.
He was pretty sure that Lina was the one who took the initiative; she probably even made some Xu Nuo Samuel: "This time it's my turn, next time it'll be yours."
He nodded and said nothing more.
Then he looked at Alex, and then at Avery and Hermes.
This matter is not over yet.
Avery was a little confused when he was called out, thinking that it was almost holiday time and Regulus had invited them out to play.
Hearing those words now actually makes me feel at ease.
He knew all along that it wasn't over, he even hoped it wasn't over, he was just waiting for this.
I just never expected it to be today, in this place, by the lake in the dead of winter, with a cold wind blowing.
From beginning to end, Rababstan made the first move, Costa and Vance acted as bait, Snape came in to cooperate, and the Lestrange family was given leverage. Of course, he knew what was going on.
His father once said that the truly reliable people are those who have faced things together and fought an enemy together; only then can they be considered one of our own.
He'd kept those words in mind, and here he is now.
He didn't rush to speak; instead, he stood more composed than usual. This was a formal occasion, and he needed to behave properly.
Hermes merely glanced at Regulus without saying a word.
He wasn't truly mindless; after the incident at the Astronomy Tower, his father spoke to him briefly, but not much more.
Dumbledore, Black —just a few words.
Basically, he was made to follow Regulus, and he did, and he obeyed Regulus.
As for how the Lestrange family would react after this, or whether they would be implicated, he didn't think much about it. He'd just done it; what else could happen?
Lina and Samuel looked at each other from behind, but neither of them said a word.
They discussed it privately, more than once, and each time they talked in great detail.
They knew their situation there, what accepting Black's protection meant, and what role they played in this matter.
They appear to be the passive party, targeted by Lestrange and placed into the plan as bait, but they themselves know how much of it was proactive.
They were gambling that Black wouldn't just use them up and then abandon them.
Cola Novels readers voted <Hogwarts: Regulus of the Lord of the Starry Sky> as the best fantasy novel, ranking among the top!
Now Black called them all over and talked about it face to face, without any hesitation or keeping them out.
The action itself is the answer.
They were treated as insiders and allowed to know, which means they wouldn't be abandoned.
The weight lifted from Lina's shoulders; she raised her chin and straightened up a little.
Regulus glanced around and had a general idea of what was going on; they had all thought about it deeply and had come up with the ideas.
But no one fell behind, and no one panicked.
Good.
He continued, his tone still calm. "Rababstan made the first move, it was Costa and Vance who attacked."
For him, it was simply a matter of him having designs on two Half-bloods; it didn't matter to him.
He paused for a moment, then continued, "But they are my people. He harmed my people, so it's a matter between him and me."
He continued, "As for you, you've been involved in this from the beginning until now. If there's any follow-up, that's between Black and Lestrange; it doesn't go up to you."
He didn't deliberately lower his voice or exaggerate; he simply brought up the matter clearly and told it to five people.
Avery didn't react much after hearing this; he had known it would go this way, so he wasn't surprised at all, and was even a little excited.
He represented Cuthbert in this matter, becoming embroiled in the conflict between Black and Lestrange.
Looking back, he was someone who had also experienced family power struggles.
When my father finds out, he will probably be pleased; no matter how you look at it, this is a big deal.
Hermes didn't react much either; he was a little disappointed.
If the Lestrange family really takes action, can he handle it?
He wanted to give it a try.
But thinking about it carefully, what he had was enough for Hogwarts, but probably not enough for that level.
If a real fight breaks out... we'll see.
Alex didn't speak; he had already thought of it, even more deeply.
He took the lead in this matter, arranging for Lina and Samuel to participate, clarifying the connection between Snape and Rababstan, and following up on the entire process.
He had known Regulus for quite some time; Regulus would speak up for small matters, but wouldn't expend too much energy on them.
Even if the opponent is Rababstan, or the Lestrange family, it's not enough.
Since Regulus is pushing this forward, his purpose must be more than just this.
Regulus is probably after the Lestrange family; Rababstan is just a pretext, an excuse, and a reason on his side.
He had guessed it, but he was also thinking about something else: what was the worst that could happen?
Their family is a branch of Roxier; they lack resources and cannot afford to be implicated.
But since they'd already done it, they'd done it. They'd decided to go along with it then, and they had no intention of turning back now. He believed that since Regulus had let them participate, he wouldn't abandon them.
This wasn't blind trust; it was the result of his observation, judgment, and final confirmation ever since the incident at the Astronomy Tower.
Regulus never used those around him and then discarded them.
Regulus looked at the five people in front of him.
Avery's expression was, "Finally here, "Hermes's, "Well, come on then," Alex's, "Since we're here..."
Costa and Vance visibly relaxed, then their expressions brightened.
Regulus knew what they were thinking; he was afraid they'd be used and then discarded.
Now that he has made things clear, they feel relieved and even started to wonder what they would get in return.
Regulus didn't see anything wrong with it.
He believes that effort should be rewarded, and he even encourages them to think this way, actively upholding this fundamental logic.
Otherwise, how will he maintain his team, and what about his ideals?
Regulus observed their reactions and nodded. "That's exactly it. You need to know what you're doing."
He paused for a moment, then said, "Now I know."
Avery spoke first, his tone relaxed, with a hint of "that's it."
It seems that after all that talk, Regulus only mentioned something they already knew.
He said exactly what he thought, "Is that all?"
Alex, standing beside him, nodded—a small but decisive gesture.
Hermes paused for a moment, then glanced to the side in the direction of the Black Lake.
The wind rippled the lake's surface. He glanced at it twice, then turned back, saying in a bored tone, "No objections."
Lina and Samuel exchanged a glance. Lina spoke first, raising her chin, her voice clear. "Understood."
Samuel added, his tone more composed. "No problem."
That was it; now that things were settled, all that was left was for them to finish up. Regulus was about to turn around and head back.
"Regulus."
Avery glanced out of the corner of his eye at another direction on the shore of Black Lake, and gestured with his chin in that direction. "Look."
Regulus turned his gaze away.
On the other side of the Black Lake shore, several people were walking this way.
