Background / History

Lu Bai is a transmigrator who awakened in the body of a Deathmatch School student after the original owner drowned under suspicious circumstances. He retained his composure, selected Super Regeneration from the Ability Pool, and entered the Deathmatch system as a participant. His classmates knew the original Lu Bai as suffering from “Extreme Lack of Aggression Syndrome,” an illness that appeared cured after the transmigration. 1 70

He adapted quickly to Deathmatch combat, combining unusually high physical ability with systematic ability selection. His early victories earned him first place in his first Deathmatch; he later completed three consecutive first-place finishes and became a prominent subject of discussion on participant forums and leaderboards. 18 70 173 176

Between Deathmatches, Lu Bai used Deathmatch School’s flexible curriculum to study combat styles, firearms, swimming, driving, and other survival-oriented skills. His growing Talent allowed him to form correct muscle memory quickly and strip redundant movements from techniques. 70

During later Deathmatches, Lu Bai repeatedly entered worlds with different systems of power. In a cultivation arena, he joined Qingwang Sect as Yuxu Zi’s disciple, advanced from Qi Refining to Foundation Establishment in one day, and soon surpassed the sect’s expectations. His growth eventually allowed him to dominate Xuanzhou, impose Lu’s Law, and become known publicly as the Heavenly Venerate. 336 337 370 373

After confronting Old Ancestor Blood River, Lu Bai discovered that his black-tier abilities were System Authorities rather than ordinary powers. He ultimately mastered the Deathmatch System and learned that he was not human to begin with. 476 483 485

Appearance

Lu Bai initially appears outwardly as an ordinary high-school student despite possessing powerful abilities. 1

  • Usually wears a harmless or gentle smile, even in dangerous situations. 101 119
  • His body can become drenched in blood and emit steam while Blood Rage is active, giving him the appearance of a “Shura” in battle. 59
  • His Titles can project an oppressive, blood-soaked killing aura that frightens other Deathmatch Participants. 308
  • In the cultivation world, he is often perceived as possessing an ethereal aura close to unity with heaven and man. 338

Personality

Lu Bai is exceptionally calm under pressure. He evaluates unfamiliar situations pragmatically, whether facing transmigration, Deathmatch combat, cultivation, or System Authority conflicts. His confidence is usually grounded in rapid analysis rather than impulsiveness; when Warden Xiong Pi proved too durable to defeat, Lu Bai withdrew and hunted for abilities better suited to the matchup. 1 245

He can be polite and restrained toward allies, teachers, and bystanders, but is ruthless toward Deathmatch Participants and enemies he has judged dangerous. He frequently uses humor, a smile, or deliberately absurd remarks to unsettle opponents. 113 119 342 308

Lu Bai is also highly adaptive in leadership. He has accepted disciples, unified Chikan Bay, established Lu’s Law across Xuanzhou, improved civilian supplies after taking over the Forward Base, and pursued broader social change according to his own judgment. 293 256 373 459
