Background
Anderson led a treasure-hunting expedition to a submerged island, where the group discovered a mural depicting a silver-haired Angel guiding pilgrims through a parted sea. Exploring the dream associated with the mural brought calamity: members of his expedition either mutated into monsters, died in disasters, or were killed by creatures. Anderson was left stranded and afflicted with severe, escalating misfortune, apparently connected to Ouroboros and the mural’s influence on his Fate. 420 424
On the island, he encountered Luther, whom he initially tried to manipulate by falsely claiming faith in the True Creator. Luther immediately saw through the lie and attacked him. Their relationship shifted into a conditional partnership once Anderson explained his circumstances and agreed to pray to Mr. Fool in exchange for help escaping. 420 424
Anderson later revealed that he had been trained by the Church of Knowledge but left its rigid academic environment. He retained a loose relationship with the Church, occasionally providing intelligence or assistance while living freely at sea. 470
Councilman Riehard eventually removed Anderson’s Misfortune in exchange for a gold coin, ending the curse that had repeatedly endangered his life. 486
Appearance
Anderson is a young, blond-haired man with emerald-green eyes. When Luther first encounters him, his white shirt, black trousers, and black vest are dusty and disheveled from being stranded on the island. 419
- Short blond hair
- Emerald-green eyes
- Typically wears practical shirts, trousers, and a vest 419
- Frequently carries himself with an easy smile, even when anxious or cornered 420 459
Personality
Anderson is boastful, quick-witted, and habitually provocative. He calls himself the “Strongest Hunter of the Fog Sea,” yet he can rapidly reassess a situation when faced with someone stronger than himself. His pride does not prevent him from retreating, bargaining, or changing course when survival demands it. 424 459
Despite his irreverent manner, he is resilient and adaptable. He recovers quickly from setbacks, whether stranded without a ship, burdened by a lethal curse, publicly wanted, or forced into piracy. His refusal to submit to Richardson’s mental coercion—answered with “Eat shit”—shows that his humor and insolence also serve as resistance under pressure. 420 459
As Luther’s first mate, Anderson develops into a capable organizer and loyal subordinate. He worries about exposing Luther’s identity, supports the crew in combat, recruits islanders, represents the absent captain at pirate gatherings, and reluctantly accepts responsibility for the fleet. 454 466 563 582

Story Role / Major Arcs
Cursed Island Expedition
Anderson meets Luther while stranded after a disastrous treasure expedition. His failed deception establishes Luther’s hatred of the True Creator, while Anderson’s knowledge of the island becomes crucial to their survival. He reluctantly accepts Mr. Fool’s protection to escape. 420 424 427
Becoming the King of Blood’s First Mate
After being exposed as an associate of the Blood Bishop and becoming wanted across the Rorsted Archipelago, Anderson abandons the possibility of returning to a restricted life under Church protection. He accepts Luther’s offer to become a pirate and is formally made first mate. 461 466
Toscat Island and Blue Mountain Island Operations
Anderson helps turn Luther’s conflict with colonial authorities into a recruitment opportunity, then leads major parts of the Blue Mountain Island raid. He destroys harbor defenses, fights the Lawyer-pathway Beyonder Lueran, and assists the fleet’s withdrawal before the Sea King arrives. 466 500 505
Fleet Representative and Acting Leader
Anderson represents the absent Blood Bishop at Nast’s pirate gathering, where other sea powers speculate that Luther may become a new sea king. Later, Luther places Anderson in charge of the fleet and grants him a Sequence 4 Hunter Characteristic to support that responsibility. 563 582
Spreading the Blood God’s Faith
While operating the fleet, Anderson distributes necessities to remote islanders in exchange for reciting the Honorific Name of the God of Blood and Shadows. Though he recognizes that most participants are motivated by food rather than devotion, he believes repeated exposure may eventually cultivate genuine faith. 688
