Background
Lindsey is a transmigrator who awakened in the world of the Pirate King after an existence spanning roughly 1,500 years. Before gaining a human body, he was used as a palace foundation, a wall-breaking weapon, a landmark, and shelter for refugees. In Grand Line year 620, the Kōzuki Clan forged him alongside other boulders into indestructible stone tablets; a young man later carved him into a human-shaped statue. 2
A group subsequently prayed before the statue and applied Devil Fruit juice to it. A flood interrupted the ritual and submerged Lindsey beneath the sea, where he remained dormant until he was discovered by Caesar Clown. He seized the awakening sensation, broke free of his stone bindings, and recognized Crocodile and Caesar from his knowledge of the world. 2
During his long isolation, Lindsey repeatedly developed theories for the powers represented by the Eight Great Demons. Once free, he treated real combat as the opportunity to test those theories, beginning with the Earth Demon Form. 3 4
Appearance
Lindsey possesses a sculpted, near-perfect human physique, described as an ancient work difficult for even a modern master sculptor to reproduce. Crocodile provides him with a long coat and casual-style suit after leaving Punk Hazard. 12
- Tall and powerfully built.
- In human form, has unusual pupils that change into geometric line patterns as his abilities activate. 2 48
- Earth Demon Form: brownish-red/crimson skin, enlarged musculature, and two pairs of dark-green demon horns. 3
- Howling Wind Form: emerald scales across his back, fangs, and wings. 70
- Zhongsu Form: body emits deep-blue lightning plasma. 81 82
- Ancient Armament Haki: manifests as drifting, tattered black strips around his body. 33 34
Personality
Lindsey values freedom above Crocodile’s offers of adventure, treasure, and status. He refuses manipulation and reacts strongly to any attempt to control him. 5
His approach to life and combat is driven by curiosity. He eagerly tests ideas in dangerous situations, often announcing that he has “got it” when a theory becomes practical experience. His enthusiasm can appear naïve or reckless, but he is also highly adaptable and strategically observant. 4 6 14
Lindsey repeatedly intervenes for people threatened by slavery, exploitation, or violence. He frees slaves, rescues hostages and kidnapped children, and insists that people need not apologize for doing what is right. His anger toward oppression can become intense and frightening, particularly when he rejects the idea that victims should accept their suffering rather than resist. 8 23 57 74
Abilities & Skills
Mythical Zoan: Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Oni
Lindsey’s primary Devil Fruit grants access to the powers of the Eight Great Demons, each associated with a supernatural element or concept. 2 3
- His full Zoan transformation possesses exceptional defense; firearms and cannonballs cannot harm him without stronger force or Haki. 23
- His forms can be used independently or layered into composite forms. 70 79
- Seawater suppresses his Devil Fruit abilities and leaves him weakened. 153 183
Earth Demon Form
The Earth Demon Form grants control over land and stone, as well as overwhelming physical strength and durability. 3 4
- Raises earth-and-stone shields to block fire. 4
- Digs tunnels, splits terrain, forms weapons, and detects nearby structures through the ground. 6 51
- Can create loose, wave-like soil for high-speed movement with Earth Wave. 14
- Forms armor from earth and stone that withstands Rokushiki attacks. 392
- Its effectiveness is reduced in environments without accessible soil. 6
Ancient Haki
Lindsey’s connection to Poneglyph material allows him to interact with ancient forms of Haki. 34 35
- Ancient Armament Haki can strike Logia users and reinforce his body or weapons. 35 79
- The Haki’s strip-like manifestation can bind opponents or obstruct their vision. 392
- Ancient Observation Haki reads residual “Traces,” allowing Lindsey to perceive limited past events and follow powerful presences. 67 158
- He believes additional Poneglyphs may contain further ancient Haki knowledge. 35
West Wood and Howling Wind Forms
Lindsey developed aerial and wind-based abilities by learning from King. 47 48
- Grows wings and hovers or flies in mid-air. 47
- Uses wing membranes to block bullets. 70
- Produces destructive gusts and wind roars through Howling Wind Form. 70 74
- Can combine West Wood, Howling Wind, and Earth Demon traits for enhanced physical power and defense. 79
Zhongsu Form
Zhongsu Form grants lightning and plasma manipulation, activated through self-inflicted electrical stimulation. 81 82
- Generates lightning from his body and fires it through his fingers. 81
- Uses electricity to stimulate his brain, nerves, muscles, and blood vessels. 82
- Creates delayed plasma afterimages known as Plasma Shadows. 87
- Overclock massively increases his speed and can be combined with other forms. 172 389
- The stimulation would be lethal to an ordinary person. 82
Curse Blue Form
Curse Blue Form is Lindsey’s gravity- and Force-manipulation ability, developed through observing Fujitora and battling Golden Lion. 57 120
- Perceives force flows as visible arrows. 120
- Generates gravity walls that pulverize incoming earth and stone. 120
- Produces Force arrows for long-range attacks, movement, and battlefield control. 121 153
- Uses Ultimate Fantasy to create convincing combat illusions that disrupt opponents’ reactions. 119 299
- Can alter force flows to escape seawater before his Devil Fruit power fully disappears. 153
- Gravitational Big Bang is a high-destructive-power technique with difficult aim and a requirement for repeated attacks against the same target. 121
Combat Adaptation
Lindsey’s greatest strength is his ability to turn accumulated theory into practical techniques during battle. 35 368
- Learns from opponents rather than merely copying them, as demonstrated against King and Fujitora. 47 48 80
- Employs improvised earth-and-stone weapons, including blades, spears, staffs, and three-section staves. 47 153 154
- Integrates Armament Haki, Force arrows, elemental forms, and weapon techniques into unpredictable combinations. 153 154
- Uses psychological pressure and illusions alongside direct force. 74 119 299
