Background / History
Trazyn is a Necron Overlord of the Nihilakh Dynasty, known as Solemnace's guardian and an exceptionally unconventional member of the Necron nobility. He had awakened long before Tomb Technician Sardon and accumulated extensive knowledge of the civilizations that arose during the Necrons' slumber, especially the Imperium and Adeptus Mechanicus. He reunites with Sardon after arriving through an Eternal Gate housed in a Necron Obelisk. 73
Sardon requests Trazyn's intelligence on humanity and the plasma weapons used against his Tomb World. Trazyn identifies the Adeptus Mechanicus and attributes their advanced plasma technology to surviving Dark Age of Technology relics, but his interest quickly turns toward acquiring the weapon for his collection. 73
When Rowan's Imperial-led expedition invades Sardon's Tomb World, Trazyn provides battlefield intelligence and repeatedly urges Sardon to either admit his guards through the Eternal Gate or withdraw. Sardon distrusts him, believing Trazyn may be trying to increase his losses until he must accept outside assistance. 76 80 83
Personality
Trazyn is theatrical, talkative, and unusually expressive for a Necron. He makes exaggerated gestures, delivers grandiose introductions, and treats “temporary safekeeping” as distinct from theft. His enthusiasm is particularly obvious when discussing rare technology, historical relics, or unusual individuals. 73 81
His collector's instinct often overrides military priorities. He becomes fascinated by Yarrick's ability to use Ork technology and seeks to capture the Commissar alive as a unique specimen; later, he is devastated when Leonardo damages artifacts within the Hyperdimensional Labyrinth. 80 88
Despite his opportunism, Trazyn shows concern for Sardon and attempts to persuade him not to release the Void Dragon shard. He recognizes Sardon's determination to reverse Biotransference and ultimately respects Sardon's decision, even while warning him of the consequences. 83 90
Abilities & Skills
Necron Knowledge and Historical Expertise
Trazyn possesses detailed knowledge of the Imperium, the Adeptus Mechanicus, Custodes, Living Saints, Inquisitors, Astartes, and Necron history.
- Briefs Sardon on post-slumber human civilizations and identifies Adeptus Mechanicus weaponry. 73
- Identifies the Imperial expedition as an unusually elite combination of Custodes, a Living Saint, an Inquisitor, a Magos, and Astartes. 76
- Assesses the scattered Imperial explorers and advises Sardon on which targets appear easiest to eliminate. 78 79
- Recognizes the significance of resurrected historical figures, including Ferrus. 269
Projections and Duplicates
Trazyn can operate through projections, mind-data avatars, and duplicates rather than exposing his true body.
- Commands forces remotely from a Tomb World storage chamber through a projection. 88
- Explains that the avatar killed by Leonardo is only a fragment of his mind-data. 89
- Reappears through a Dimensional Portal after Leonardo destroys an earlier avatar, using a newly summoned duplicate. 89
Dimensional Containment and Deployment
Trazyn uses Necron dimensional technology to imprison targets and deploy stored forces.
- Captures Leonardo by throwing a Hyperdimensional Labyrinth over him after trapping him in an illusion. 82
- Summons Word Bearers from the Great Heresy era between himself and Leonardo. 89
- Plans to have Deathmarks use dimensional traversal to deliver the Primal Fear Inducer. 88
Battlefield Strategy
Trazyn adapts his tactics to the unfolding battle, though his plans are repeatedly disrupted by forces he cannot account for.
- Recommends using Sardon's home-field advantage to isolate and destroy the scattered human expedition. 78
- Proposes concentrating forces on Yarrick after witnessing his anomalous use of Ork weapons. 80
- Develops a decapitation strategy using Deathmarks and the Primal Fear Inducer when conventional Necron forces prove insufficient. 88
- Advises Sardon to retreat after evaluating the expedition's destructive capability. 90

Story Role / Major Arcs
Sardon's Awakening and the Tomb World Defense
Trazyn answers Sardon's summons, provides intelligence on the Imperium, and takes an immediate interest in the human plasma weapon attacking the Tomb World. 73
As Rowan's expedition assaults the Tomb World, Trazyn identifies the invading party's exceptional composition, recommends tactics against the scattered explorers, and mistakenly presents Yarrick as their weakest target. 76 78 79
After Yarrick demolishes Necron forces with Ork weaponry, Trazyn attempts to have him captured alive. Sardon rejects the suggestion and grows more suspicious of Trazyn's intentions. 80
Conflict with Leonardo
Trazyn confronts Leonardo alongside a Custodes-like Blade Champion and uses the Primal Fear Inducer to trap Leonardo in an illusion before sealing him in a Hyperdimensional Labyrinth. 81 82
Leonardo escapes confinement and destroys several of Trazyn's prized artifacts, including an ancient C'tan-era jar, an Old Ones anti-gravity bike, a preserved C'tan soldier's skull, and a borrowed Mephelit Dynasty ritual artifact. 88
Trazyn attempts to delay Leonardo with summoned Word Bearers, but Leonardo kills them, destroys Trazyn's avatar, and claims the Hyperdimensional Labyrinth. A duplicate's attempt to recover it also fails. 89
Cooperation to Close the Eye of Terror
Trazyn later encounters Luo An at Solemnace. Though he initially tries to flee, Luo An's Reality Warping prevents his escape. Trazyn agrees to aid the plan to close the Eye of Terror after Luo An offers to reshape Sutton's soul into a human form. 253
