Background / History
During the Ferocious Beast Tribulation, Yuan Feng led the Phoenix Clan while the Dragon, Phoenix, and Kirin Clans maintained a strained alliance against the Ferocious Beast Clan. Unlike Ancestral Dragon and Shi Qilin, he remained focused on the wider crisis rather than their vendetta against Xie Fang. 31 34
After divining that Xie Fang's fate was closely tied to heaven and earth, Yuan Feng warned him that the Dragon and Kirin Clans had issued decrees to hunt him. He later forced the two leaders to suspend the pursuit by threatening to withdraw the Phoenix Clan from their alliance. 31 33 34
Yuan Feng offered Xie Fang sanctuary at the Southern Undying Volcano, partly to protect him and partly because he recognized Xie Fang's value as a potential asset. Xie Fang declined formal allegiance but acknowledged Yuan Feng's goodwill. 34
When Xie Fang later visited the Phoenix Clan, Yuan Feng recognized him as an honored guest, punished Feng Ming for attacking him, and allowed Mo Wu to remain in Phoenix territory to temper himself with Li Fire. 42 43 44
During Luohu's attack, Yuan Feng intervened to block a fatal strike meant for Xie Fang. He was severely injured, but Xie Fang treated him and later continued to look after his recovery. 53 54 55 71
Following conflicts with the Dragon and Kirin Clans, Yuan Feng recovered sufficiently to organize a counteroffensive. He concentrated Phoenix Clan forces on eliminating enemy strongholds around the Southern Undying Mountain rather than overextending the front line. 71 72
Appearance
Yuan Feng can take human form, but his true form is a phoenix. In battle or high-speed travel, he manifests phoenix wings and moves through the sky in a blaze. 38 53
- Phoenix true form with expansive wings. 38
- Capable of shifting between phoenix and human forms. 53
- His presence carries the authority of a Quasi-Saint and Phoenix Clan sovereign. 31 33
Personality
Yuan Feng is composed, dignified, and notably more farsighted than the other clan leaders. He repeatedly places the survival of the Primordial Races above personal enmity, opposing Ancestral Dragon and Shi Qilin when their pursuit of Xie Fang endangered the alliance against the Ferocious Beast Clan. 31 33 34
He is diplomatic but decisive. When persuasion failed, he threatened to remove the Phoenix Clan from the alliance, compelling the Dragon and Kirin leaders to reconsider their actions. 33 34
Though cautious of Xie Fang's unpredictable strength, Yuan Feng treats him with respect and goodwill. He protects Xie Fang's standing within the Phoenix Clan, assists Mo Wu's cultivation, and risks his own life to save Xie Fang from Luohu's clone. 43 44 53
