Black Zetsu's words caught in his throat. His head buzzed, and he even forgot why he had come. White Zetsu, meanwhile, started making a huge fuss.
"Hey, he knows!"
"He really does know!"
"Our plan's been exposed!"
"What do we do?"
"Should we kill him to keep him quiet?"
"Shut up!" Black Zetsu snapped, his face dark, stopping White Zetsu from letting any more information slip. His eyes stayed fixed on Uchiha An, brimming with murderous intent.
"Hahaha..." Uchiha An paid no mind to Black Zetsu's hostility and simply laughed wildly.
"Black Zetsu, I'm not interested in your affairs. I don't care whether Kaguya gets released, and I care even less whether the Ninja World is destroyed..."
"I don't care about any of it!"
"There's only one thing I care about!"
"And that's whether Konoha gets destroyed!"
Black Zetsu studied the crazed, twisted expression on Uchiha An's face for a long while. At last, he nodded solemnly and promised, "Don't worry. As long as you don't interfere with my plans, I can guarantee you that Konoha will be destroyed!"
"Hahaha... Good! That's good!" Uchiha An laughed maniacally.
Zetsu's body slowly sank into the ground, but then he stopped and asked hesitantly, "Hey, An, did your eyes see the outcome?"
"In the future, do I succeed in rescuing Mother?"
"Hm?" Uchiha An paused his laughter and glanced at Zetsu. He nodded with mock seriousness. "You do!"
"Of course you rescue her!"
"But..."
Before Black Zetsu could break into a delighted smile, Uchiha An's expression changed again. A strange smile appeared, brimming with naked malice, and he began laughing even more wildly.
"But your big brother, the Sage of Six Paths Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo, suddenly shows up. After a whole lot of trouble, he seals your mother Kaguya away again!"
"Haha..."
"What?" Black Zetsu was instantly furious, shaking all over as he cried out, "He's still alive?"
"That bastard!"
"He doesn't deserve to be Mother's son!"
"If he and Ōtsutsuki Hamura hadn't interfered, how could Mother have been sealed?"
"I'm going to kill him!"
"I'll definitely kill him!"
Black Zetsu cursed as he controlled his body, sinking into the ground and disappearing from the room.
Only after Zetsu had left did the smile gradually fade from Uchiha An's face, replaced by an expression full of bitterness and hatred.
He wouldn't let Konoha off!
He wouldn't let Uchiha Itachi off, either!
And of course, he wouldn't let Uchiha Obito off!
So why should Black Zetsu be spared?
Just because he hadn't directly acted in the Uchiha clan massacre?
If they truly looked into it, Black Zetsu was the mastermind behind everything—the one thing that deserved to be dealt with most!
But revenge had to be taken one person at a time, and things had to be done step by step. Now wasn't the time to deal with him. For now, he'd make use of him.
Uchiha An sat on the bed, gazing at the empty space by the window as he waited for Uchiha Obito to come and kill him.
Nagato had forbidden him from provoking Obito first, but if Obito broke the rules, then An couldn't be blamed!
Although he'd spent the past few days fleeing nonstop without sleep, and had fought battle after battle, his body was exhausted. He'd also spent a long time treating Nagato, leaving his Chakra and Pupil Power at rock bottom.
But just thinking about how he'd soon make Obito suffer a major setback made Uchiha An feel like he was brimming with energy. He didn't feel tired at all.
Sure enough, Obito arrived before long.
The Uchiha had always been arrogant, and Obito was no exception.
He strolled right in through the front door. His phased body let him pass through any obstacle.
"Well, if it isn't Obito!" Uchiha An greeted him with a wave, leaning against the headboard. "What, want to ask me how your good buddy Kakashi's doing?"
An knew Obito well. He knew exactly how to provoke him and get under his skin.
Sure enough, the moment he heard Kakashi's name, Obito flew into a rage.
"Don't mention that name to me!" Obito shouted angrily. "I'll kill him sooner or later!"
"Oh, is that so..." Uchiha An replied sympathetically. "That's easy!"
"I love helping people."
"I can help Itachi finish his mission and kill his younger brother. And of course, I can help you fulfill your wish and kill Kakashi!"
"When we attack Konoha, I'll take care of it for you."
"No need to thank me!"
Obito grew even angrier. He glared at An and warned him coldly, "Don't meddle in my affairs!"
"Don't go doing anything unnecessary, or... I'll kill you!"
"Oh, my, oh, my!" Uchiha An cried in feigned surprise. "I thought you'd come here to kill me right now!"
"So you'll wait until after I've killed Kakashi to come after me!"
"Obito, Obito, you really are a useless fool!"
"No wonder Rin chose Kakashi in the end. Even when she died at Kakashi's hands, she still had a smile on her face. After all, she died in the arms of the person she loved most..."
"Shut up!" The moment Rin's name came up, Obito could no longer hold back. He charged forward, spread his right hand, and reached for Uchiha An.
"Hahaha... I've been waiting for this!" Uchiha An laughed wildly. Susanoo surged up from the ground and swept out a punch.
The cramped room was instantly smashed apart by the gigantic energy warrior. Stones and tiles rained down, only to be ground to dust by the blood-red Chakra.
The commotion immediately alerted everyone nearby, and countless eyes turned toward them from the shadows.
Obito phased into the Kamui Space to avoid Susanoo's attack, then stood there with his head held high and said proudly, "It's useless!"
"No matter what Ninjutsu you use, you can't hurt me. I can patiently wait until your Chakra runs out."
"You can't hurt me, but I can hurt you."
"All it takes is one lapse in your defense, and it'll all be over."
"Is that so?" Uchiha An gave him a strange smile, reached behind him, and took down the Herb Gourd. He tipped it toward Obito, and a vast swarm of Phosphorus Corrosive Insects poured down over Uchiha Obito like a waterfall.
Obito had no idea what was going on and kept boasting.
"It's useless!"
"You know this is a space-time Ninjutsu. No matter what you attack me with, it can't hurt me in another space."
"That goes for the Phosphorus Corrosive Insects, too!"
"Hahaha... You idiot!" Uchiha An laughed wildly, mocking him. "Obito, you really are the Dead Last. Your brain really doesn't work!"
"If you know I have information on you, then you should know that I'm aware your Kamui Dojutsu is a space-time Ninjutsu—and that its maximum duration is five minutes!"
"Hey, I've covered you with poisonous insects. So tell me, do you dare come out of the Kamui Space?"
"Too bad you're not stupid enough to use Kamui to suck the Phosphorus Corrosive Insects into the Kamui Space. Otherwise, things would have gone exactly as I wanted!"
"I'd planned to let the Phosphorus Corrosive Insects nest in your Kamui Space and settle down there for good. What a shame, what a shame!"
