Background / History
Konoha was founded by the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju. Hashirama's Wood Release became central to the village's founding legacy and its image as a force capable of ending an era of conflict. 3
During Sarutobi Hiruzen's later tenure as Third Hokage, internal conflict emerged around Shimura Danzō and Root. Danzō sought to seize Tejima Shinichi—whose Senju bloodline and immense Chakra he regarded as suitable for use as a “Backup Container”—while Hiruzen rejected the treatment of Konoha's younger generation as tools. 5 Root operatives later attempted to forcibly take Shinichi within the village, prompting an Anbu and Police Force response. 15 16
After Yamato reported that Root elites had attacked Shinichi during a mission, Hiruzen convened an emergency leadership meeting and resolved to curb Danzō's influence. 34 35 Hiruzen subsequently announced that Danzō had been stripped of his elder-advisor authority and that Root had been disbanded. 37 Danzō's crimes, including his role in the Uchiha clan's downfall, were later publicly exposed; he died alongside Root operatives through the Reverse Four Symbols Sealing. 153 154

Administration
Tejima Shinichi introduced reforms that reduced the Hokage's routine workload through delegation and administrative restructuring. Tsunade's workload remained substantial, but she gained considerably more free time than Hiruzen had enjoyed as Hokage. 173 184
During his period as acting Hokage, Shinichi processed a mountain of official documents and completed the confirmation and archival procedures for the subsidiary agreements of the Lands of Lightning, Water, and Wind. 229 230
Military and Defense
Konoha maintains shinobi forces ranging from Genin to elite Jonin, along with Anbu, intelligence personnel, sealing teams, medical ninja, barrier units, and the Police Force. 15 101 291
Before the Konoha Collapse Plan began, the village placed combat units around the Chunin Exam venue, monitored infiltrating Sound ninja, and established a temporary command center with surveillance screens, maps, communications systems, and response routes. 100 101
During the Akatsuki night raid, Yamanaka Inoichi connected battlefield commanders through his clan's mental transmission technique. Tsunade divided Konoha's forces to counter individual threats, assigning sealing teams against Impure World Reincarnation bodies, Sarutobi Hiruzen against Kakuzu and Hidan, and Kakashi against Tobi. 291
Major Incidents
Konoha Collapse Plan
Konoha uncovered Orochimaru, Yakushi Kabuto, and Sunagakure's plan to attack during the Chunin Exam finals. 91 Hiruzen granted Shinichi temporary special command authority equal to the wartime standing of Jiraiya and Tsunade, making the three Konoha's principal combat powers during the crisis. 113
The village defeated the combined Sunagakure and Otogakure assault. Shinichi suppressed Orochimaru with the Gate of the Great God and captured him alive, while Hiruzen announced Konoha's victory to the surviving shinobi. 123
Rise of Konoha's Dominance
Shinichi's natural Wood Release and his suppression of the One-Tails Shukaku established him as a Konoha prodigy whose existence altered how other villages assessed Konoha's strength. 69 79
Shinichi later attacked Iwagakure alone. Against approximately nine to ten thousand Iwa shinobi, he manifested a 450-meter True Several Thousand Hands statue, leveled Iwagakure's northwestern defensive terrain, and inflicted more than five thousand immediate deaths before Ōnoki sought peace. 201
After Shinichi subdued Kumogakure and forced the Fourth Raikage, A, to submit, Iwagakure, Kumogakure, Sunagakure, and Kirigakure moved to sign subsidiary agreements with Konoha. 220 222 225 The agreements brought an unprecedented period of peace under Konoha's rule. 230
Five Kage Summit and Akatsuki Raid
Konoha hosted a Five Kage Summit to address Akatsuki's campaign against the Tailed Beasts. The visiting leaders included the Raikage, Tsuchikage, Kazekage, Mizukage, and Takigakure's chief, Shibuki. 282
Akatsuki exploited Shinichi's absence to launch a full-scale night raid. Deidara bombed the Hokage Building, while the Six Paths of Pain, Kakuzu, Hidan, Kisame, Sasori, Kabuto, Konan, and Tobi targeted different areas of the village. 288 291
Konoha's defenders sealed the Impure World Reincarnation bodies of Kisame and Sasori, while Hiruzen defeated Kakuzu and Hidan and ordered civilian evacuations in the commercial district. 293 297
