Background
Tang San retains memories of a past life and fears anyone discovering that secret. He possesses techniques from the Tang Sect, including hidden weapons and movement methods, and initially conceals their full nature from those around him 21 37 66.
His mother was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in human form. During a confrontation with Martial Soul Hall while Tang Hao was breaking through, she sacrificed her soul ring to Tang Hao, who escaped with the infant Tang San 46. Tang San’s devotion to his mother—despite never meeting her—becomes a major source of his hostility toward those he believes wronged his family 35 44.
At Shrek Academy, Tang San treated Yu Xiaogang as a father figure and defended him from Ning Rongrong’s mockery 3. As the Golden Ranking repeatedly undermined Yu Xiaogang’s theories and revealed Great Wall Academy’s strength, Tang San began questioning his teacher’s guidance and decided to leave Shrek with Xiao Wu 20 21.
Appearance
Tang San is a young man with an ordinary appearance, usually dressed in a blue tight-fitting outfit. A persistent gloom sits between his brows, particularly as his resentment intensifies 64.
- Blue tight-fitting clothing 64
- Often depicted with bloodshot or crimson eyes during moments of rage 36 77 78
- Summons blue-black grass blades when using his first Martial Soul before its awakening 33
Personality
Tang San is intensely filial and protective of the people he considers family. He values his bond with Tang Hao and Xiao Wu deeply, reacts violently to insults against his mother, and supports Xiao Wu when the Clear Sky Sect elders turn on her 35 37 69. He initially extends that same loyalty to Yu Xiaogang, though the revelation that his training wasted the Blue Silver Emperor’s potential turns respect into open enmity 3 46.
His pride and desire for recognition grow steadily after his defeat and humiliation at Great Wall Academy. He becomes fixated on surpassing Su Han, believes his Twin Martial Souls should make him the continent’s greatest talent, and seeks revenge rather than reassessing his own actions 38 44 65. The Asura God’s remnant soul feeds these traits, heightening Tang San’s bloodlust, jealousy, and ambition 65 69 77.
Tang San is also calculating and distrustful. After realizing the Asura God knows of his past-life memories, he outwardly acts reverent while privately planning to kill the remnant soul once it has served its purpose 66.
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses the Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer, along with Innate Full Soul Power. The Talent Golden Ranking identifies both as top-tier Martial Souls 44 46.

- The Clear Sky Hammer is a top-tier Tool Martial Soul used for direct combat 46.
- His Twin Martial Souls and Innate Full Soul Power were publicly exposed when he placed fourteenth on the Talent Golden Ranking 44.
- His first Martial Soul was trained along a control-and-poison path, which the Golden Ranking judged to have wasted its potential 46.

Before its awakening, Tang San referred to his first Martial Soul as Blue Silver Grass and used it as a control-system ability 44.
- Formed blue-black grass blades into a barrier to protect Tang Hao from Shao Siyuan’s attack 33.
- Awakened by the Golden Ranking, which increased the upper age limits of all later Soul Rings by 40% 46.

- Its status as a top-tier Tool Martial Soul is recognized by the Talent Golden Ranking 46.
- Tang San’s understanding of the hammer is initially overshadowed by Tang Hao’s far greater experience with it 33.
Tang Sect Techniques and Hidden Weapons
Tang San applies secret techniques and concealed weapons carried over from his past life 21 37.

- Exploits Tang San’s resentment toward Su Han and desire for greater strength 65 77.

Relationships
- Tang Hao — Father. Tang San travels with and protects the injured Clear Sky Douluo, though he grows frustrated with Tang Hao’s reckless confrontations 23 33 37.
- Xiao Wu — Closest companion and mutual source of emotional support. They leave Shrek together, comfort each other, and Tang San protects her from the Clear Sky Sect elders 21 45 69.
- Yu Xiaogang — Former teacher and father figure. Tang San initially defends him, but turns against him after the Golden Ranking declares that Xiaogang wasted the Blue Silver Emperor’s potential 3 46.
- Su Han — Primary adversary. Tang San views Su Han as responsible for his humiliation and becomes determined to surpass and kill him 38 64 77.
- Asura God — Manipulative remnant soul within Tang San’s sea of consciousness. Both seek to use the other: the god wants a vessel and successor, while Tang San plans to eliminate him after gaining benefits 65 66.
- Tang Xiao — Uncle and Clear Sky Sect Master. Tang San returns to the sect under Tang Hao’s guidance and later joins its assault on Great Wall Academy 69 77.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Departure from Shrek Academy
Tang San’s confidence in Yu Xiaogang erodes as the Golden Ranking exposes increasingly extraordinary talents and contradicts Xiaogang’s judgments. He resolves to leave Shrek Academy with Xiao Wu, only for Dai Mubai to reveal the same intention before Tang Hao arrives and leads the group away 20 21 23.
Confrontation at Great Wall Academy
Tang Hao brings Tang San to Great Wall Academy hoping to secure his future there, but Tang Hao instead challenges Shao Siyuan. Tang San intervenes to protect his father, launches hidden weapons at Hua Mulan, and later kills Dai Mubai amid the ensuing chaos 31 37. Faced with Su Han’s overwhelming power, Tang San bows and leaves with Tang Hao and Xiao Wu, privately regarding the act as profound humiliation 37 38.
Talent Ranking and Blue Silver Emperor Awakening
Tang San places fourteenth on the Talent Golden Ranking, far below the position he expected. The ranking reveals his Twin Martial Souls, criticizes Yu Xiaogang’s training path, and awakens the Blue Silver Emperor 44 46. Tang San subsequently declares Yu Xiaogang his enemy 46.
Asura God’s Manipulation
After Hua Mulan defeats the Asura God, the god’s remnant soul targets Tang San because of his jealousy and fixation on revenge. Tang San accepts its aid to awaken his first Martial Soul while secretly intending to destroy it after obtaining its benefits 65 66.
Clear Sky Sect’s Assault
Tang San returns with Tang Hao and Xiao Wu to the Clear Sky Sect, where the Asura God’s influence amplifies his urge for violence 69. On the eve of the decisive battle, he helps persuade Tang Hao and Tang Xiao to join the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s attack on Great Wall Academy, demanding that Su Han publicly recognize Tang San, Tang Hao, and the Clear Sky Sect as the greatest in their respective rankings 77. During the battle, he attacks with a phantom Asura Demon Sword but is held back by Zhu Zhuqing 78.
