Duanmu Huai destroyed the Zerg and Protoss on Aiur, advanced his goal of becoming the Scourge, and helped arrange a Black Hole Bomb against the Universe Monsters. He then investigated the Howling Death in Neverwinter and led an assault on the corrupted Helm Fortress, where Emilia revealed holy power that could purify Corruption's Filth.

• Duanmu Huai destroyed the Zerg-infested planet and Leviathan, then boarded a Protoss warship and found Xenomorphs fighting its awakened warriors.
• Duanmu Huai ordered Aiur destroyed, mined its Khaydarin Crystals, and unlocked Become the Scourge with the Universe Monsters as his first target.
• Duanmu Huai returned to the Solar System, agreed to help the United Earth Forces build a Black Hole Bomb from Vajra's Homeworld, and later destroyed the homeworld with a Whirlwind Torpedo.
• Duanmu Huai accepted the Sorrow of the Northern Lands quest and joined Emilia and Luo Qixi in investigating the Howling Death in Neverwinter City.
• Duanmu Huai found plague-ridden zombies beneath Master Duzer's warehouse and learned that Deszel had arranged the warehouse transfer, then set out with Emilia's group for Helm Fortress.
• Duanmu Huai and his companions defeated mutated animals near Helm Fortress, burned the infected forest, and smashed through the fortress gates.
• Duanmu Huai, Okegis, Emilia, and Luo Qixi fought the cultists and demons inside Helm Fortress, where Emilia's holy light destroyed a Corruption's Filth Demon.

Duanmu Huai descended into the Underdark, tested his power against its monsters, and manipulated Philre into overthrowing Drow rulers and spreading his influence. Emilia, Kasim, and Luo Xia continued searching for Kelben Blackstaff’s nephew and learned that a Drow force was approaching.

• Duanmu Huai killed Deszel after the traitor transformed into a Chaos Spawn, then exposed the God of Life’s plague and helped establish an Inquisition base in Neverwinter City.
• Duanmu Huai and his companions traveled to Waterdeep, where he defeated a drow strike team and then went underground alone with Okegis.
• Duanmu Huai opened the Underground Maze and defeated Black Legion warriors, then used a captured Mind Flayer to find and destroy a city’s Master Brain.
• Duanmu Huai and his companions lured Philre into claiming a black construct, and Philre used it to kill Feijina and eliminate rivals before taking power.
• Philre killed Matron Mother Xinafei and, with Duanmu Huai’s influence, attacked the Drow Council and turned minor families against the city’s Spider Queen.
• Philre led her corrupted army to burn another Drow city, where Duanmu Huai killed Matron Mother Tina and Philre drove the ruling priestesses mad.
• Emilia, Kasim, and Luo Xia survived their journey through the Underdark, learned that a Drow city had fallen, and met a silver-haired girl who revealed she was Okegis’s younger sister.
• Emilia decided to continue searching for Kelben Blackstaff’s nephew as the group prepared to face approaching Drow.

Duanmu Huai killed Rose, destroyed the Universe Monsters with the Black Hole Bomb, and returned to Faerûn to establish an Inquisition stronghold. After purging the Lost Land and part of the High Forest, he found a passage into the Soul World and arrived at Luminas, where a dragon attacked the fortress.

• Duanmu Huai killed Rose in her Divine Domain, then led the fleet to detonate the Black Hole Bomb and destroy the Universe Monsters at the Milky Way’s core.
• Duanmu Huai returned to Faerûn, chose the Lost Land for an Inquisition base, and investigated mutated stillbirths in Locke Town, tracing them to radioactive ore left by a follower of Corruption's Filth.
• Duanmu Huai killed the Lord of the Fly Nest, then destroyed the Lost Land and warned Faerûn’s leaders that Ancient Evil Gods were awakening.
• Duanmu Huai ordered the Inquisition to burn a swath through the High Forest and kill the attacking Treants, eliminating the last trace of Typhus's plague aura.
• Duanmu Huai found a hidden Teleportation Gate in the Lost Land and fell through it with Okegis and Jia Wei into Aurelia’s bathroom.
• Duanmu Huai agreed to help Aurelia defend Luminas from an approaching army, while suspecting that the princess was indifferent to the fortress’s fate.
• A dragon attacked the fortress, and Aurelia leaped from the wall to charge it as Duanmu Huai noticed the indifference in her eyes.

Duanmu Huai uncovered Luminas’s buried history, established Arkham as the Inquisition’s base, and destroyed Mortarion before turning his attention to a Githyanki cult. The arc left Mary’s friends stepping through a doorway into a world they had not expected to see.

• Duanmu Huai defeated the white dragons, retrieved the Holy Sword by lifting it with the surrounding ground, and used it to free and destroy the Demon beneath the iceberg.
• Duanmu Huai witnessed Orlilia’s betrayal of his companions and bargain with the Demon King, then learned that Aurelia had been trapped in a repeating cycle and promised to take her soul to the Inquisition.
• Duanmu Huai exposed Orlilia, helped Aurelia take control of Luminas, and returned to develop Arkham with new Soul Card recruits and a Gothic city blueprint.
• Duanmu Huai opened Arkham to visitors, confronted divine representatives about the Chaos Gods, set rules for temples and merchants, and denied several factions permission to establish bases.
• Duanmu Huai led an attack on Mortarion’s fleet, used the Whispers of the Old Ones to break Mortarion’s sanity, and destroyed him with the Thunder Warhammer and Black Flame.
• Duanmu Huai sent the Inquisition to investigate a mountain cult, rescued Gray’s squad from a Githyanki-controlled force, and decided to pursue the Githyanki to the Astral Plane.
• Mary brought Shirley and Ashelika through a door in Duanmu Huai’s house, leaving them dumbfounded by what they saw.
